The HKSAR government has introduced several rounds of stringent measures over the past weeks to curb the resurgence of COVID-19 infections.
In addition to applying the practices proven effective in boosting the flow of commerce, firms in these zones will enjoy support policies, such as exemption of value-added and consumption taxes on retail exports, and assessed levies of corporate income tax. Companies will be supported to jointly build and share overseas warehouses, said a statement released after the meeting.
Grid management and neighborhood watches were initiated in some cities to detect and isolate suspected cases and their close contacts as soon as possible. Many volunteers showed up to help.
The meeting also urged more support for flexible employment as an important approach to stabilize employment amid the difficult job market this year.
China has made reforms in most of the 10 Doing Business indicators, from starting a business to resolving insolvency.
