If a woman completes the consultation and is deemed eligible for a medical abortion, the organization's founder writes a prescription for the two pills used to terminate the pregnancy, misoprostol and mifepristone. Prescriptions are then sent to a pharmacy in India, which fills and mails orders to the U.S.There are other ways to get abortion pills by mail in the U.S., but Aid Access is the most affordable option at and one that offers the possibility of financial help, as stated on its website. SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) -- Solana Beach’s alternative to San Diego Gas and Electric appears to be in store for financial headwinds. A new city report says that the Solana Energy Alliance could run at a deficit for the next two years, which look to be more challenging than originally forecast. The city launched the alliance in June to help the city reach its goal of 100 percent renewable energy by 2035 and provide competition to SDG&E. Currently, more than 90 percent of Solana Beach energy and businesses buy their electricity from the alliance. It saves them about 2 percent from SDG&E. “They’re definitely stepping into deep water to try to do this themselves,” said Solana Beach resident Ed Radcliffe. “I hope they do it right.”Solana Beach City Councilman Peter Zahn said overall the energy program is healthy. It has high enrollment and is paying off expenses from the launch. He said it had higher revenues than expected while also having higher expenses than expected. Zahn said the report examined the alliance’s first three months, so it’s still early. He added a big hit came from a recent Public Utilities Commission decision to hike the exit fees residents pay SDG&E to buy it elsewhere. The Solana Beach city report says the fees could rise by as much as 50 percent. “While we are not happy with some of the factors that have influenced this - like the exit fee - we are really optimistic about going out into the future,” Zahn said.The report said higher energy prices and lower SDG&E electricity generation rates are also impacting revenue.In October, the city of San Diego announced plans to create its own alternative to SDG&E, called a Community Choice Aggregator. (AP) — When scientists destroyed the first nest of so-called murder hornets found in the U.S., they discovered about 500 live specimens in various stages of development.Washington state officials said Tuesday that the total included nearly 200 queens that had the potential to start their nests.Still, that didn't end the threat from the giant insects that can deliver painful though rarely deadly stings to people and wipe out entire hives of honey bees.Scientists think other nests already exist and say it's impossible to know if any queens escaped before scientists destroyed the first nest.According to the Associated Press, in the first nest back in October, researchers found:—190 total larvae.—108 pupae.—112 workers.—76 queens, most of them being new virgin queens.According to experts, a few dozen people a year in Asian countries have died from them, despite their nickname, and it could be far less than that, the AP reported.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in comparison, in the U.S., typical hornets, wasps, and bees kill an average of 62 people a year. 1119

SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A San Diego County Sheriff’s deputy was injured Monday following a crash in Spring Valley. According to the department, the crash happened near the intersection of Bancroft Drive and Kenwood Drive at 8:23 a.m. The deputy was responding with his lights on to reports of a stolen vehicle when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash. The deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the department said. The details on what led to the crash wasn’t specified by the department. 538
