SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have identified both the victim and the suspect after a man died following a stabbing in Rancho Pe?asquitos Thursday afternoon. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 9500 block of High Park Lane just before 2 p.m.Police arrived as they say the suspect, Howard Forrest Lowe, 52, was riding away on a bike. Lowe was arrested and will be booked into jail on suspicion of murder, police say.After entering the home’s garage, police found 72-year-old Richard Dale Munsinger. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler lied to me. He lied to Padres fans all around San Diego. It was a giant, bald-faced lie. Wasn't it great?Last September, as a dismal 66-win season was winding to a close, I had a chance to interview Fowler on my Mighty 1090 morning radio show, "Ben and Woods." I asked him about the possibility of pursing Manny Machado on the free agent market."Machado, I think, is somebody that every team would like," Fowler said before adding the dreaded "but" to the sentence. "But if we're looking at someone who's looking at 10 years and 0 million, I don't think that's something we're looking to do."Then, 145 days later, Fowler made himself into a liar, authorizing exactly what he said he wouldn't do -- a 10-year, 0 million contract for Machado. The Padres' hole at third remained, and there was Machado, still waiting for the right fit on the free agent market.Finally, don't discount general manager A.J. Preller's powers of persuasion. He was able to convince his bosses that the right guy for the Padres was available now and this was a one-time opportunity."You could wait for some of the young talent that we've built up and look at 3 or 4 years and hope the right guys are out there," Preller told reporters at Cactus League media day in Arizona, "but if pieces that fit for us both in the short-term and long-term are out there, that's how you build a club." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - President Trump issued an order Monday prohibiting Broadcom’s attempt to take over San Diego-based Qualcomm, citing national security.Broadcom had made several efforts to buy the chip maker in recent months. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two people were stabbed in the San Diego River Tuesday night. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 500 block of Morena Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. between Old Town and Linda Vista.After the stabbing, the suspect, only described as a man wearing a white shirt, fled the scene. Despite a police helicopter and officers on foot, the suspect managed to escape.Lt. Mike Ramsay said the two victims were hispanic men, ages 18 and 19. One was stabbed in the chest and the other in the stomach. They were taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest. Ramsay described their condition as "serious but stable."Police closed off Morena Boulevard near Interstate 8 as they searched for the suspect, creating heavy traffic in the area. 10News will continue to keep you updated as soon as we receive more information. 882

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Portions of San Diego County are gearing up for more dry, windy weather as a red flag warning and potential power outages loom.According to the National Weather Service, the warning goes into effect from 4 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Tuesday for the mountains and valleys.The agency says east winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are expected, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour and isolated gusts up to 60 miles per hour.RELATED: Check your local forecastHumidity will also be low, with values around 10%, the agency said Sunday.“Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning should be avoided,” the National Weather Service said.SDG&E warned customers to prepare for the red flag warning, adding that it has alerted about 50,483 customers that they could be without power starting Monday night and lasting until Wednesday, depending on the severity of winds."Our crews remain on high alert and stand prepared to respond as needed to the next round of Santa Ana winds expected to impact our region. With our customers just now recovering from disruptive Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) due to the last Red Flag Warning, we hope Mother Nature will be kind to our region in the coming days and weather conditions improve," the company said.SDG&E customers in several areas of the county already endured outages last week after the first round of high winds.
