Wisconsin voters are heading to the polls on Tuesday for primary elections, and Democrat voters will select from a crowded ballot of gubernatorial candidates.A total of 10 candidates are on the Democratic primary ballot — but one of them is telling voters to skip his name."I could never imagine that I would be asking people not to vote for me," candidate Andy Gronik said.Gronik withdrew from the race last month, but not before ballots were printed. "I've already received some emails from people who have voted for me, and they were disappointed to learn I wasn't in the race," Gronik said.Dana Wachs is also still on the ballot, in the last spot, but he's also withdrawn as well.There are eight other candidates that hope to go up against Gov. With Election Day right around the corner, Mattel has unveiled their latest addition to its "Inspiring Women" series - Susan B. Anthony.The toy company said that it wanted to honor Anthony for her "pioneering efforts and far-reaching impact" in the fight for women having the right to vote."On November 5, 1872, while protesting and leading the charge for women's voting rights, Susan B. Anthony made a defiant move," Mattel said on its website. "She voted in the presidential election and was arrested at her home in Rochester, NY."Because Anthony helped pave the way, the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, which gave women everywhere the right to vote.Last week, the National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House unveiled the doll inside Anthony's home.In a press release, Deborah L. Hughes, President & CEO of the Anthony Museum, said they were delighted to hear from Mattel's design team about constructing a doll that would reflect "Susan B. Whole Foods is getting even more Amazon-y.Amazon, which purchased Whole Foods last year, is offering its Prime members an additional 10% off sale items when they shop at Whole Foods.The additional discount will apply to hundreds of products throughout the stores. To get the discount, Prime members will have to scan the Whole Foods app at checkout, after signing into the app with their Prime membership.Earlier this year, the companies launched free two-hour delivery on Whole Foods groceries in 10 test cities, through Amazon's Prime Now service. Amazon expects to expand that offering later this year. Eligible Prime members also receive 5% back on Whole Foods purchases when using the Amazon Prime Visa card.Amazon now has more than 100 million Prime members. When it comes to free food, demand is up and donations are down.To help feed the hungry, volunteers have turned a school parking lot into a pantry.“That’s what's important,” said Maria Estrada with the Wyatt Academy, a charter school in Denver, Colorado.Once a week, her teams passes out free bags of food to families and to people like Marco Esparza.“I’m getting some apples and potatoes,” he said.For Esparza, these donations more than just feed his family.“With this kind of pandemic, it helps us to stay safe at home."Since COVID-19 hit, Estrada says more people are requesting food donations across the country while volunteers adjust to the new norm and practice new safety guidelines.“Things are different,” Estrada said about food donation centers. “We now have to make sure everybody is wearing gloves. We want to make sure everybody is being safe. Everybody has their masks on. We’re trying to keep everybody social distanced.”Estrada says the COVID-19 crisis is creating somewhat of a national food shortage crisis. That’s why they’re now partnering with the YMCA.“When COVID hit, YMCAs across the country started to support food programming,” said Katie Canfield with the YMCA.Nationwide, the YMCA has provided 37 million meals to more than one million people in the last six months. WESTLAKE VILLAGE (CNS) - Westlake Village-based Guitar Center, the country's largest retailer of instruments and musical equipment, joined a growing list of companies impacted by the economic toll of the COVID-19 pandemic, filing for bankruptcy, according to a report Sunday.Guitar Center has about 300 stores across the U.S., and its sister brands include Music & Arts, which has more than 200 stores specializing in band and orchestral instruments for sale and rent, according to the Los Angeles Times.The filing in the Eastern District of Virginia gives the company a break on its debts by letting it stay in business as it seeks to carry out a restructuring plan, the Times reported.According to the report, a restructuring support agreement announced Nov. 13 requires new financing backed by existing creditors, in addition to 5 million in new equity investments from its parent company, Ares Management Corp., as well as the Carlyle Group and Brigade Capital Management.Moody's Investor Service explained that the coronavirus shutdown has hit nonessential retailers hard, and that Guitar Center was particularly vulnerable because musical instruments are highly discretionary item. The company's stores were shut down in mid-March when the pandemic began in earnest. Since then, the Times reported, it has reopened some locations while maintaining online operations.Guitar Center claims it has liabilities of between billion and billion, with a similar range for its assets, according to the filing.According to the report, Ares acquired the company in 2014 in an out-of-court restructuring of Guitar Center's substantial debt load, the result of a deal by Bain Capital LP in 2007 to take it private. 1728
