(KGTV) - Is a "What's App" message offering up 2 free pizzas from Pizza Hut legit? No.It's just a ploy by scammers to get your personal information.Clicking on the link will force you to answer endless surveys, but you'll never get any pizza. 254

(KGTV) -- San Diego nurse Ana Wilkinson spent a month working at New York’s Harlem Hospital during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. She returned to San Diego May 21st and returned to work at UCSD Medical Center, just three days later. The transition has not been easy.“A part of me feels guilty leaving my team there. The first day back at UCSD Medical Center I felt lost and I cried.”Wilkinson’s firefighter husband and two young sons understood when she answered the call for help in New York City. She has served on medical missions all over the world but this mission was the most challenging. Her motto is that no patient dies alone.“I became attached to my patients and because their families couldn’t be there, I was there holding their hands when they died.”Wilkinson says her time in New York has made her a better person and a better nurse. 860

4S RANCH, CA (KGTV) - A rash of street racing on a straightaway in 4S Ranch has neighbors calling for the county to intervene.Surveillance images show the beginning of an illegal street race on Four Gee Road Tuesday morning that ended in a crash. No one was injured, but neighbors are growing weary of the close calls.“This most recent incident was probably the most severe case we’ve ever seen,” said Tony Cesario, who has dozens of the incidents on video.Cesario’s security camera on his back fence caught the moments before a BMW racing a pickup truck ran off the road.“This happens on a weekly basis,” said Michael Chard, another neighbor, “it’s teenagers.”Residents say they call the authorities when it happens, but the drivers are always gone before law enforcement arrives.“At some point, somebody’s going to get killed,” added Chard. The county has previously denied resident’s attempts to add speed bumps on the half-mile long straightway that runs from Mount Gee to Camino Del Norte.A hangup for their efforts is that Four Gee Road is used for fire access. The Rancho Santa Fe Fire District has the final approval for any road alterations as part of the the fire code.A spokesperson says the speed bumps can damage their equipment when they are responding to a fire.Lucy Chard was home when Tuesday’s crash occurred and she says it’s only a matter of time until happens again.“There was a line of kids right down there waiting for the school bus,” said Chard standing where the BMW crashed, “and if this happened a few hundred yards down the road it would have been a different situation.” 1610

(KGTV) — What seems to be the problem, officer?Well, we don't think the conversation played out routinely. Needless to say, one Sacramento-area California Highway Patrol officer was "shocked" to watch as an overstuffed truck nearly hit an overpass Tuesday. The South Sacramento officer was traveling on State route 50 when he saw the truck's mammoth haul, bags upon bags of bottles and cans, a CHP Facebook post reads. The driver of the truck was still traveling at freeway speeds, with the unsafe load still in tow. After watching the truck's load nearly collide with an overpass, the officer pulled the driver over off and told him to exit the freeway. The driver was given a lawful order to stay parked until he could off load the bottles and cans and transport them a safer way."If you are driving down eastbound US 50 and your load almost hits an over crossing, you might have an unsafe load!!" CHP wrote in a post.According to CHP, California Vehicle Code 2803(a) requires a vehicle's load "to be secure enough to prevent the dropping or shifting of such load onto the roadway." 1089

(KGTV) — The 18-year-old girl who pushed her friend off a 60-foot bridge into a Washington state river has been charged with one count of reckless endangerment.Prosecutors filed the charge against Taylor Smith, saying the teen engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death and resulted in serious physical injury to Jordan Holgerson," according to ABC News.Reckless endangerment is a gross misdemeanor in Washington state and punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of ,000.Smith pushed Holgerson off the bridge over the Lewis River at Moulton Falls Regional Park near Vancouver, Wash., on Aug. 7.The fall left Holgerson, 16, with six broken ribs, a punctured lung, and air bubbles in her chest, officials said.Footage showing the fall was captured on cell phone video and soon went viral. A nearby surveillance camera also caught Smith pushing Holgerson over. The teens have given conflicting reports of what led up to the fall.Smith has told authorities that she was trying to help her Holgerson overcome the fear of jumping and that she didn't mean to cause harm. Holgerson, however, said she didn't want to be pushed off and she was trying to count down. 1216
