New Zealand’s government has extended a lockdown of its largest city Auckland for another 12 days as it tries to stamp out its first domestic coronavirus outbreak in more than three months. The outbreak has grown to 30 people and extended beyond Auckland for the first time. Until the cluster was discovered Tuesday, New Zealand had gone 102 days without infections spreading in the community, with the only known cases travelers quarantined after arriving from abroad. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says extending the lockdown will give health authorities time to get a handle on the cluster and isolate those infected.According to Johns Hopkins University data, New Zealand has had 1,600 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the vast majority coming in March. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Officers from the FBI, ATF, Indiana State Police and local departments searched the home of a Noblesville middle school student accused of shooting a teacher and classmate Friday morning.The shooting was reported shortly after 9 a.m. local time at Noblesville West Middle School in suburban Indianapolis. Officials said seventh grade teacher Jason Seaman and one of his students were shot when another student opened fire.Seaman and the student victim were transported to Indianapolis hospitals in critical condition. The suspected shooter was taken into custody.While the suspect has not yet been identified, investigators are already searching his Morse Reservoir home. NEW YORK CITY — The state of New York has reconsidered a controversial new restaurant rule that would have prohibited customers at New York City eateries from using restrooms while indoor dining is suspended, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio's office.De Blasio's Press Secretary, Avery Cohen, tweeted the update after overnight backlash against the new rule."After discussions with the State, they have agreed to change the rule around bathroom access," Cohen wrote. NEW YORK CITY — New York City Deputy Sheriffs shut down an event with more than 200 people at a Queens banquet hall early Saturday.Authorities were called to an event at the Queens Luxe Banquet Hall at Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.There were about 215 people inside the venue in violation of the state's and city's COVID-19 emergency orders.The hall was also operating without a liquor license, according to authorities.The owner and an employee of the venue were issued summonses for violation of emergency orders, unlicensed sale of alcohol and unlicensed warehousing of alcohol. Two other staffers were issued summonses for violation of emergency orders.New York City currently allows indoor entertainment locations to operate at a 25% capacity if they do not fall under one of the city's restriction zones.
