House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, one of President Donald Trump's closest allies, on Wednesday described Trump's resolve to hold out for billion in border wall funding as "very firm" as the partial government shutdown entered its fifth day.Having spoken to the President since Saturday, the North Carolina Republican described Democrats as "misreading" Trump if they thought he would compromise on funding for the wall."I can tell you, if they believe this President is going to yield on this particular issue, they're misreading him, misreading the American people," Meadows told CNN's Manu Raju on "Inside Politics."Trump, speaking to reporters hours later during a trip to Iraq to visit US troops, indicated his position had not changed.Asked how long the shutdown would last, the President responded that it would go on for "whatever it takes" for him to get wall funding. "We need a wall," Trump said. "So when you say how long is it going to take? When are they going to say that we need border security?"Negotiations between congressional Democrats and the Trump administration over the President's demands for a border wall have so far not yielded an agreement, and the shutdown will continue until at least Thursday, when the Senate returns to Washington.Trump is demanding that the bill funding the Department of Homeland Security include billion for the border wall. The House passed a bill that included the funding and declined to take up a Senate-passed plan that would have kept the government open through February 8. The Senate declined to take up the House's bill before the shutdown. Democrats are refusing to include that much funding for the wall in the bill. Both sides seem entrenched in their opposing stances and it's possible parts of the government could remain closed until the new Congress is seated in the first week of January, when Democrats will take control of the House.Further illustrating how far apart Democrats and the President are from each other, Meadows said, "I see no evidence that would suggest he would come even close to 1.3" billion dollars in spending for the wall. Meadows added, "I don't see that as a reasonable counteroffer."Behind the scenes, Meadows said, Trump "was fully engaged up through the Christmas break getting on the phones with different senators and members of Congress trying to find some kind of path forward."In his own conversations with his Democratic colleagues, Meadows said, "Most of what we've faced is really a wall of sorts with the Democrats."The-CNN-Wire? & ? 2018 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Company. For years, millennials have been called out for job hopping and always looking for the next best thing. So, what’s causing the job hop and what can companies do to retain their younger employees?Charlie Harding is the CEO of Let’s Roam and he’s a millennial. He says he knows what the 30-somethings are looking for when it comes to a job."If a company is rigid and inflexible, it allows employees to job hunt or job hop, especially millennials," he says. However, the job market is tight right now and it’s giving millennials the option to choose the job that’s right for them. That could be part of the reason why they are job hopping.“They have a ton of confidence that if they were to leave that it would be OK,” says Karen Policastro, with the international recruiting firm Robert Half. “And if they go somewhere and it didn’t work out, they could just go somewhere else.”Millennials are in the driver seat and want new and unique experiences.Policastro says there’s a lot of competition, and millennials are looking for bigger paychecks, work life balance, healthy company culture, potential for career growth and a manager that values them.“If they aren’t getting it where they are, they are quick to leave,” Policastro says.Seventy-five percent of employees ages 18 to 34 view job hopping as beneficial compared to 51 percent of workers 55 and older.“I think there is a stigma that there is a lack of trust and loyalty,” Harding explains. “But it’s really up to the company to build that trust and loyalty. If they are leaving, it’s not because of the employee; it’s because of the company."No matter the generation, Harding believes it’s fairly simple for companies to retain employees.“If you are able to make employees happy and have a strong leader and understand what they want and how you can help them accomplish their goals, then you can do that,” Harding says. 1888

Food delivery service company DoorDash says they are investigating a security breach that affected 4.9 million users, workers and merchants. The company says they became aware of "unusual activity involving a third-party service provider" earlier this month. They launched an investigation and discovered that user data was accessed on May 4. The breach only affects users who joined on or before April 5, 2018. If you joined DoorDash after that day, your information is not affected, according to the company. The type of user data accessed could include: Profile information including names, email addresses, delivery addresses, order history, phone numbers, as well as hashed, salted passwords — a form of rendering the actual password indecipherable to third parties. For some consumers, the last four digits of consumer payment cards. However, full credit card information such as full payment card numbers or a CVV was not accessed. The information accessed is not sufficient to make fraudulent charges on your payment card. For some Dashers and merchants, the last four digits of their bank account number. However, full bank account information was not accessed. The information accessed is not sufficient to make fraudulent withdrawals from your bank account. For approximately 100,000 Dashers, their driver’s license numbers were also accessed. The company says they're reaching out directly to affected users with specifics on what information was accessed. "We do not believe that user passwords have been compromised, but out of an abundance of caution, we are encouraging all of those affected to reset their passwords to one that is unique to DoorDash," the company said. DoorDash says they took immediate steps to block further access and to enhance security across the platform. For more information click 1832

From grinding gears to tightening brakes, working on bikes can be intimidating and emotionally deflating for some people.Nkenna Onwuzuruoha says she feels at one with the world while riding on two wheels. When it comes to actually fixing her bike, however, she’s a little less confident. To help learn the tools of the trade, Onwuzuruoha comes to the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective on Wednesday evenings during WTF Night, a program offering a safe earning environment for women, transgenders and femmes. And the idea is to give those groups a safe place to work in.“Oh, I love it,” Onwuzuruoha says. “It’s a great place for women, trans, and femme folk to work and not feel intimidated or frustrated.”WTF night has been happening in Salt Lake City, Utah since 2002. Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective Workers say it’s now becoming a nationwide movement with more bike shops across the country hosting events geared towards helping these groups. “It lets women and those that have normally had a wrench torn out of their hand or have been degraded as, ‘Oh, I’ll do that for you,'--it really allows them to build confidence to be able to maintain their own bike,” says Kendra Davis, a Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective volunteer.Davis and her team say they are helping put the power back in the hands of people who may feel marginalized by men in bike shops. Attendees say what’s equally as important as gaining this hands-on education is learning how to be an ally of these groups.“We’re here together supporting each other in a way that is not normally seen I think,” says Maniessa Raza. “That’s why I choose to come specifically tonight rather than any other night.” 1681
