SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An investigation is underway to find the driver in a hit-and-run crash that injured two passengers in City Heights.Police say the female driver crashed into multiple parked cars on Fairmount Avenue just after midnight on Wednesday.Witnesses told police they heard the crash, and then saw the driver jump out of the car and run, leaving the two female passengers behind.Both women managed to crawl out of the mangled car with the help of nearby neighbors. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An arson investigation expert says the probe into possible arson behind the USS Bonhomme Richard fire could take more than a year to complete.Wednesday multiple sources with close ties to NCIS told ABC 10News that a sailor is being investigated for arson in the Navy ship fire at Naval Base San Diego last month.Timothy Wilhelm is a senior fire investigator with Robson Forensic and has extensive experience with arson cases. He’s not part of the Navy ship investigation but says it could take agents more than a year to complete their findings. “There's so many delicate systems in that ship. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A shipment from Mexico containing over 200 non-FDA approved COVID-19 test kits was seized at San Diego International Airport, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials announced Wednesday.CBP officials said the shipment of two packages arrived at the airport on Dec. 1 from a flight out of Mexico. In a news release, officials said the shipment was manifested as “plastic card” and then taken for inspection.Officers found 251 COVID-19 test kits inside the packages, and they were then evaluated by FDA officials.An inspection by the FDA found the kits were misbranded, and the shipment “did not have an FDA Emergency Use Authorization and violated the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.”The kits, with a domestic value of ,000, were seized by CBP officers, with Homeland Security notified of the shipment.CBP San Diego Director of Field Operations Anne Maricich said, “I am proud of how vigilant our officers are when it comes to protecting our communities, they stopped the entry of unauthorized, unproven and potentially unsafe goods into the United States.
