Cities across the country are finding unique ways to encourage visitors to enjoy the sights and sounds of their city. The City of Denver in Colorado has placed five colorful pianos painted by local artists in the middle of downtown area, welcoming people of all ages and skill levels to play. The art installation is called Your Keys to the City."Two times a year, we have artists come and re-paint these pianos and create these vibrant art installations,” says Britt Diehl with Downtown Denver Partnership.City officials hope the initiative brings people together."Denver is very artsy,” says a Denver resident named Angela. “I love seeing people interact together." One visitor from London said he’d never been to a city where there is interaction with instruments. But Denver isn’t the only city drawing crowds. In Nashville, thousands visited the selfie wall created by a local artist to help singer Taylor Swift promote her latest album. In New York City, the latest interactive art installation drawing visitors is called the Vessel. It’s also known as the stairway to nowhere."When you have pianos like this or public art, it brings people together from all walks of life and helps you take a moment hop off your phone and enjoy the place that you are in," Diehl says. 1287

Editor's note: This article contains graphic descriptions of what prosecutors say happened in the killing of a pregnant woman.A Chicago woman accused of strangling a pregnant teen and cutting out her unborn baby had planned the killing for weeks, having first lied that she was expecting a child, and then using Facebook to find and lure her target, authorities said Friday.Clarisa Figueroa, 46, strangled 19-year-old Marlen Ochoa-Lopez at Figueroa's Chicago home last month, then removed the teen's baby from her body and pretended it was hers, authorities say.Figueroa and her daughter, Desiree Figueroa -- who police say helped in the strangulation -- were arrested this week after investigators found the teen's body in a trash can in Figueroa's yard Tuesday. 775

DENVER — A Muslim civil rights organization is calling for an investigation after they say a Muslim-American woman was told to remove her hijab in order to enter a local arena. The Colorado chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says Gazella Bensreiti was told by an employee at the Pepsi Center that she needed to remove her headscarf in order to be allowed into the arena.Bensreiti, a mother of three, was trying to enter the arena to watch her daughter perform the national anthem. An employee at Will Call allegedly told her "take that thing off" or not be allowed entrance, according to CAIR officials. When Bensreiti asked if she could remove her hijab in private and in front of a woman, but the employee allegedly refused. CAIR then says she was "subjected to public humiliation in front of staff, students and other parents, until her daughter became distraught, believing her mom would not be allowed in to see her perform." At a news conference scheduled for Wednesday morning, CAIR will also call on Pepsi Center officials to change their policy regarding religious attire of event attendees.Pepsi Center officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The civil rights organization said they have reported, "an unprecedented spike in bigotry targeting American Muslims and members of other minority groups since the election of Donald Trump as president." 1415
