A 17-year-old is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the head by a rubber bullet. Caprice Wade said her son Lazerick Wade, 17, went several blocks away from their home in Milwaukee to check in on a gathering of people outside a home. Minutes later, she had to rush him to a nearby hospital.“My heart sunk to the bottom of my feet,” Caprice Wade said. “I didn’t know what to do.”Cell phone video shows Lazerick in a blue hoodie moments before the shot was fired just feet away from officers. Caprice said her son was asked to move out of the street before the shot was fired.“When he turned around to look at me, his head was split wide open,” she recalled after picking up her son.A spokesperson with Milwaukee Police did confirm rubber bullets were used as part of non-lethal munitions to disperse crowds at the location.A police spokesperson said the department is investigating Caprice’s claims but are still investigating the alleged incident.“He’s in intensive care. We’re just waiting to see what else from there,” Caprice Wade said.Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has gone on-record decrying certain use-of-force."I stressed the need to bring the temperature down. Bring the temperature down,” Barrett said during an interview.The home where Wade was shot at was the site of a chaotic evening Tuesday as crowds gathered over concerns of two missing teens and other crimes believed to be connected to the home.Milwaukee police said they responded to the home on June 22 to check for a missing 13-year-old and a 15-year-old. The officers searched the home several times but did not locate the teens, the news release said.MPD also sent an update in relation to calls at the home:For the residence that was targeted (the lower) on N. 40th St, there were 8 calls for service at that residence in 2020. 6 of those calls were related to the missing checks, threats, and the fire that occurred on Monday and Tuesday. (KGTV) - The nation responded Saturday after a mass shooting at an El Paso Walmart, with people asking how to help the victims. The El Paso Police Department tweeted “blood needed urgently” hours after the shooting, due to the multiple victims at El Paso hospitals. Vitalant in El Paso, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit blood service providers, sent 90 units of blood to one of the two hospitals. Several other hospitals requested additional blood, the group reported. Since then, the bracelets have been featured by celebrities and become a popular accessory.This week, the company sent emails to customers apologizing for any confusion over their products. (KGTV) -- The 75-year-old pilot who was killed when his small passenger plane crashed in Northern California Friday night has been identified as Carl Morrison of Fallbrook. Sonoma County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from the US Air Force at about 6:40 p.m. reporting an emergency transponder activation from a small passenger plane in the city of Petaluma, about 40 miles north of San Francisco.  Deputies were dispatched to the location but were unable to locate the plane."Around the same time, a woman from San Diego County had called Petaluma PD and reported her husband was overdue home," said Sgt. Spencer Crum of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.Shortly after 10:00 PM deputies spotted a small fire in a remote ravine near the 3600 block of Manor Lane, Crum said. Deputies reached the location of the fire and discovered the downed aircraft and the body of a man believed to be the pilot.The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.Morrison was believed to have left the Petaluma Airport en route to San Diego County in his Mooney M20 fix winged airplane, the sheriff's office said.Bob Morrison, Carl Morrison's oldest son, said that Carl Morrison was a retired U.S. Marine who served twenty years. He was also the Region Vice Commander of the Fallbrook Senior Squadron 87 Civil Air Patrol. He served with them since 2006.In addition to being a father of six, he was a lawyer who owned an environmental consulting company, Bob Morrison said. He was in Northern California on business, returning home, when his plane crashed. Bob Morrison said his father had been flying for 20 years, which was a lifelong dream of his. "He left his mark wherever he went in a positive way," Bob Morrison said. 1794
