(KGTV) - A new technology is being hailed as a "game changer" by some experts as it takes aims at those achy, tiresome commutes.  Cadillac's Super Cruise, the only hands-free semi-autonomous driving feature on the highways, is now on roads in Southern California.Once on the highway, the feature is activated with the push of a button on the steering wheel.  The feature allows the driver to go feet- and hands-free as long as you stay in one lane. "If someone slows down in front of me, it will slow down our speed," said Drew Doran.While other driver-assistance systems use cameras to center a car, Doran says General Motors has extensive laser mapping of US highways that leads to better accuracy."It actually knows what is ahead of the vehicle," said Doran.  On a one-hour-long drive, it tracked every curve and every time, it stayed in the center of the lane. The driver is still expected to be on standby.  A camera on the steering wheel watches for distractions.  If the driver is doing something like reading and blocking that camera, it will warn the driver.When we blocked the camera, a green light flashed - the first of several alerts - before Super Cruise disengaged.  Doran says he recently went on a trip to Los Angeles with his wife.  He says he used Super Cruise for about 80 percent of a drive that left him feeling relaxed.    "Not the usual back pain. ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Video shows a machete attack in Escondido that occurred earlier in February. According to Escondido Police, the attack happened on Maywood Street and Washington Avenue around 10:17 p.m. on February 12. Police say it appears three teenagers walking in the area were confronted with a machete-wielding man. ENCINITAS, Calif (KGTV) -- An Encinitas business owner is trying to spread awareness about the challenges her employees face when customers refuse to follow the public health orders issued during the pandemic.Kris Buchanan owns GOODONYA Organic on the 101 in Encinitas. She posted a video discussing what she calls "The great mask debate" with one of her employees.Alex, the employee, talks about how it's exhausting constantly reminding customers to wear a face covering, but Buchanan said her employees deal with much more than that."I think people should realize the issue is not the business and I'm not trying to skirt the issue. I'm just trying to be real, we can't enforce, we don't have the skills, we don't have the training, we don't have the money to go through the training, and I don't want to put my people in that situation," said Buchanan.Buchanan said her employees are dealing with customers who refuse to wear masks, but also customers who are upset that other people aren't wearing masks."I think every business has a responsibility to do the right thing, to follow the guidelines and so it's not like we're just, we don't want to talk about it, I think the point to know is we do try and, they don't listen to us," said Buchanan.She has spent thousands of dollars on PPE, moving the restaurant outdoors and increasing sanitation protocols, but she says there's not much she can do when crowds of people and tourists walk right past her outdoor tables without masks. Federal agents arrested two Mexican nationals and a Cleveland man after more than 140 pounds of methamphetamine was seized in Boston Heights — believed to be the largest seizure of meth in Ohio's history.Tyrone Rogers, 36, of Cleveland, Hector Manuel Ramos-Nevarez, 26, and Gilbert Treviso-Garcia, 24, both of Mexico, have been charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.Investigators seized 82 pounds of crystal meth and 60 pounds of liquid meth from a warehouse near the in Boston Heights, a city with a population of 1,300, located in suburban Cleveland."It's incredibly dangerous," said U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman. "Narcotics themselves are dangerous, but also keep in mind, those narcotics were there to be processed.Rogers picked up Nevarez and Treviso at La Quinta Inn in Macedonia, Ohio last month, according to authorities.According to the Department of Justice, Rogers drove the two men several times between a house in Aurora and a nearby warehouse.The warehouse where the drugs were seized appeared to be used as a processing facility to produce, package and distribute the drugs, according to the authorities.Investigators listened to several phone conversations about who had "broken into" the location. ENCINITAS (KGTV and CNS) - A body was found in a creek bed near Moonlight State Beach Monday. A passer-by spotted the dead person behind the tennis courts at Cotton Wood Creek near the intersection of Second and West B streets in Encinitas about 9:30 a.m., according to sheriff's officials. The deceased was described only as a while male, investigators said.Deputies searched the area and found no initial signs of injury or foul play.The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, and notify the family. 565
