PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — There is a group of retired ladies living in a Pinellas County RV park who have formed their own assembly line when it comes to making masks. They call themselves the Crafty Ladies of Sherwood Forrest RV Resort. They are making hundreds of masks a week, and because the bulk of them go to our veterans, patriotism is a big deal. The red, white and blue runs deep not just in their fabric but their spirit.“I feel helpless with what’s going on with the Covid and this is my tiny little way of contributing,” said Micheal Barsi.Barsi is one of more than a dozen residents who are part of the group. Most of them have two main things in common, they are skilled with a sewing machine and are part of a military family. For the past six years, the Crafty Ladies have been making quilts for the Service Source organization, Veterans Mall. However, when the pandemic hit, they shifted their needle and thread to make masks for veterans.“They had to sacrifice and people who had to sacrifice I want to help as much as I can,” said Nancy Barandon. The Crafty Ladies said the best part is the camaraderie, working together on a project that could save lives.“It does make us feel good to see people using them,” said Jeannie Powell. BRYAN, Texas – You’ve heard the saying “everything’s bigger in Texas.” Well, so is the Lone Star State’s problem with wild hogs. The invasive species has been wreaking havoc on the ecology and causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damage each year. In recent months, they’ve even become deadly. Some wildlife removal experts are using heavy ammunition and an aerial advantage to contend with the wild animals. “Heli-Bacon flies around in helicopters and we kill feral pigs with machine guns,” explained Heli-Bacon CEO Chris Britt. Britt admits it’s an unfair advantage, but he says that’s the point. “In this particular case though, the purpose is not to be fair. The objective is to kill as many as possible.” Britt co-founded 747

It’s been a month since both of you went home to Paradise to be with Jesus. I spend most of my time imagining what both of you are seeing and experiencing. As my tears fall, I remind myself of what the apostle Paul said in first Thessalonians 4:13-14 NIV “Brothers and sisters we do not want you to be on uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him”. For me this is not the end but only a brief interruption. One day soon we will have a magnificent reunion and all of us will be with the Lord forever. Until then I will press on to the ultimate goal of spending eternity in Heaven. My family and I would like to thank everyone across this country who has prayed for us and sent words of encouragement our way. I also want to thank the baseball community; The love and compassion we have felt has been unbelievable. It truly feels like we are one big family. Thank you @ourbaseballlife for everything you have done to support us during this time. I also want to thank the @raysbaseball for their continuous support through all this. 1248

A sociology professor says all those images that pop up on social media showing Halloween candy with razor blades and drugs aren't really a legitimate concern. Joel Best at the University of Delaware has been looking into these reported incidents since the ‘80s. That was the decade when so many of these reports started getting attention. Best says since then, there have been zero cases of children dying from eating contaminated treats from Halloween. His report, 480

Ahead of the 2020 general election on Nov. 3, social media platforms like Facebook are encouraging everyone to vote or register to vote if they haven't.Those reminders can get a little annoying, especially if you have already voted or are already registered to vote with plans on voting. There are ways to turn them off, and one viral post on social media shows you how. We tried it and it does work.First, hit the three lines on the bottom right bar of the Facebook mobile app. Then scroll all the way down to "see more." After hitting "see more, continue scrolling until you see "Town Hall" and click on it. After hitting Town Hall, click on "Settings" in the top right. Finally, you can see the "voting reminders" as the last option on the screen. Toggle the button from on to off.
