In the latest scathing allegation against the Catholic church, Pennsylvania's attorney general said the Vatican knew about a cover-up involving sex abuse allegations against priests. Investigators have found evidence that a missing University of Iowa student was doing homework on her laptop the night she went missing, according to the woman's brother.Mollie Tibbets, 20, went missing on July 18 when she went jogging near Brooklyn, Iowa. TIbbets' brother, Jake, says investigators found that evidence that she was on her laptop that evening.The older brother of 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts says investigators told him evidence shows she was doing homework on her computer last Wednesday evening. Tibbets was reportedly dog-sitting for her boyfriend, Jack Dalton, at the time of her disappearance. It is unclear if she returned after her jog, but the new details, family members say it is possible she did. Investigators previously executed a search warrant for Tibbits' Fitbit and social media accounts. A spokesperson for the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations said Tibbets' case may be the first time Fitbit data has been used in an investigation in the state.  1043

I've had the dog for 10 years," said Lorrie Snowden, dog's owner.Snowden came home from the store on Wednesday afternoon to find Petta lying outside her door, bleeding from multiple stab wounds. "While I was gone, somebody broke into my house and attacked my dog, and then took my dog and attacked her somewhere else," said Snowden.The cockapoo was stabbed as many as 15 times. Somehow Petta found her way home."She had to crawl back and let her owner know something was wrong," said Snowden.She took Petta to an emergency vet clinic, but there was nothing they could do."They had to put her down. Investigators searching for missing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts have gotten hundreds of tips and are looking for her in ponds, fields and from the air, officials said Friday morning at a news conference."Unfortunately, we have not yet found Mollie, but it has not been due to a lack of effort or a lack of resources," said Kevin Winker, director of investigative operations for the Iowa Department of Public Safety.Tips on the missing student "have been coming in regularly," and 30 to 40 investigators are on the case, Winker said.The 2-week-old case is "very frustrating, but it hasn't slowed our efforts," Winker said, adding that investigators "come to work everyday with the attitude that we're going to find Mollie."Asked whether they're investigating Tibbitts' disappearance as an abduction, Winker said they are treating it as a missing person case.
