CPSC describes the model as having a blue ring at the front, and coming in two colors, 'satin nickel,' which is black and silver, and 'venetian bronze,' also known as black and bronze. The models were sold with a mounting bracket and a USB charging cable.Ring is a subsidiary of Amazon and makes internet-connected home devices.The Consumer Product Safety Commission posted a notice on Tuesday explaining the recall. The device’s battery “can overheat when the incorrect screws are used for installation,” the CPSC stated.“Ring has received 85 incident reports of incorrect doorbell screws installed with 23 of those doorbells igniting, resulting in minor property damage. The firm has received eight reports of minor burns,” the CPSC notice reads.The agency urges consumers to stop installing the recalled product and contact Ring for revised instructions.Ring posted an update on their support page, offering instructions for installing the doorbell camera.“If the doorbell is installed correctly, there is no risk to consumers or potential hazard present,” the company stated. 1413

A man in Florida called police while Collier County Sheriff's deputies were chasing him Tuesday morning.The sheriff's office report said it all started because the suspect acted suspiciously. The sheriff's deputy went up to the car and smelled a smell similar to marijuana.The deputy spotted a baggie that contained a green leafy substance. The suspect then grabbed the bag, put it in his mouth, and sped away."I need help, please," said Aric Frydberg, the man who was arrested after the 7-mile pursuit on U.S. 41. "There's a police officer chasing me," he added.Fort Myers-based WFTX obtained the 911 call. The operator tried numerous times to get Frydberg to pull over.But during the phone call, Frydberg tried to get the operator to make some calls on his behalf. The first set of calls was to his parents."Call my mom, call my mom," said Frydberg. "Please call my mom," he added while on the phone.Then he took it a step further and wanted to speak to the president.  "Donald Trump is a close friend of mine," said Frydberg. "We made a deal," he added while he was trying to convince the operator.Frydberg then changed gears and tried a different strategy.  "My mom called me and said she was in a car accident in Homestead," he said. "My flesh and blood was in a car accident and I have to stop and help you," Frydberg added.Deputies eventually got him off the road and phone.The report goes on to say the deputies searched the car and found glass pipes with burnt leafy residue on them. (CNS) - San Diego County officials opened an erosion control center in Alpine Thursday to help businesses and homeowners prevent debris flows in the areas burned by the Valley Fire.The center at 2914 Tavern Road will offer free sandbags, fiber rolls and other items to help residents stabilize properties before rains arrive and potentially trigger mudslides and debris flows, county officials said.Starting Thursday, the center will be open to business and property owners from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Appointments are not required this weekend, but will be required starting on Monday.Residents and business owners can schedule an appointment to pick up erosion control materials by calling the county's stormwater hotline at 888-846-0800.Staff will be available to advise on how to protect properties, homes, garages, sheds and other structures. Staff can also visually inspect properties and offer information on best practices to protect structures.As of Wednesday morning, the Valley Fire remained at 17,665 acres and was 90% contained, according to a Cleveland National Forest incident page.The conflagration, which broke out early on the afternoon of Sept. 5 off Spirit Trail and Carveacre Road in Japatul Valley, ultimately destroyed 30 residences and 31 outbuildings, damaged 11 other structures and left three firefighters injured, according to Cal Fire.Jamul resident Jim Grigsby told ABC 10News, “The fire burned down three of my neighbors' houses. And I’m looking out through my window now and it’s kind of sad ... Amazon announced that some employees would continue to work from home until the middle of next year amid the coronavirus pandemic."The health and safety of our employees is our top priority, and it will be some time before things return to normal," Amazon said in a blog post on its website.
