WASHINGTON (AP) — Government scientists have classified 18 U.S. volcanoes as "very high threat" because of what's been happening inside them and how close they are to people.The U.S. Geological Survey has updated its volcano threat assessments for the first time since 2005. The danger list is topped by Hawaii's Kilauea , which has been erupting this year. "Once you move down into the high and moderate threat (volcanoes), it gets even dicier."The USGS said a dozen volcanoes have jumped in threat level since 2005. (KGTV) -- Certain businesses in Vista will be allowed to take their operations outdoors in light of the state’s COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions.Vista officials said a Temporary Emergency Order was issued Wednesday “to relax outdoor use for personal care services, salon and barber shop services, and gym and fitness services to temporarily relocate their existing business operations to an adjacent outdoor area during the COVID-19 pandemic.”The city’s order comes as indoor operations across the state shut down -- effective July 15 -- for gyms, houses of worship, non-critical office businesses, hair salons and barber shops, indoor malls and personal care services.Vista businesses that would like to move services outdoors are asked to contact the city’s Economic Development Department at 760-639-6165 or via email at EconDev@CityofVista.com.In a statement, Vista Mayor Judy Ritter said, “It’s a top priority for the City of Vista to do everything we can to support our local businesses during this pandemic and still protect the health and safety of the community. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – A group of teenage girls attempted to set a trap for a 32-year-old man who tried to meet one of them for sex, according to San Diego County sheriff’s officials. According to sheriff’s officials, deputies responded to a reported kidnapping at 1385 East Vista Way in Vista around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. A group of juveniles told responding deputies they used a social media app to contact “an older man who was looking for underaged girls to have sex with. The group hoped to expose the male and turn over the information to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.” Sheriff’s officials said the group made contact with Robert Dreyfus on the app and exchanged text messages. A meeting location was established at a shopping center at 1385 East Vista Way. Officials said that “Dreyfus arrived and convinced the 17-year-old victim to get into his vehicle to talk,” but he then drove away with the girl without consent. According to officials, the girl was able to message her friends for help, and they contacted authorities. Deputies made contact with Dreyfus, and he stopped his vehicle near the 2000 block of East Vista Way. The girl got out of his vehicle and was not hurt, officials said. Dreyfus was arrested by responding deputies and booked into Vista jail on suspicion of kidnapping, sending harmful matter to a minor and communication with a minor for specific offenses. Online, hundreds of groups that set up stings, hoping to expose child predators. “This was really dangerous and something that’s best left to professionals in law enforcement,” said criminal defense attorney Jan Ronis. WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A man has been arrested and charged after police say he threw his wife into the Provo River in Utah on Sunday.According to an arrest report, 61-year-old Douglas Harold Green and his wife were at the Provo River Resort, located just downriver from Deer Creek State Park in Wasatch County, when they began arguing over dinner arrangements.Police say Green became angry and threatened to drown her in the river. He then dragged her to the bank of the Provo River and forced her in, the probable cause statement says.Witnesses said they tried to help her, but Green yelled at them to stay away.Police said the woman had a bruise on each arm, which she said were from Green dragging her. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) --  A California Highway patrol car assisting with construction was hit by a tire just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. The incident, caused when a Chevy Silverado lost a spare tire, happened on the westbound 78 near the Sycamore Avenue, according to CHP. Several people swerved to avoid the tire as it entered the highway, causing at least three crashes. Lanes were closed for a little more than one hour. No CHP officers were injured, but the patrol car was towed from the scene. At this time it's unclear if the driver of the Silverado knew that the tire was lost.  637
