BEIJING, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Qiao Shi, former chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, died of illness in Beijing at 7:08 a.m. on Sunday, according to an obituary from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The two sides should stick to the correct direction for the bilateral relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective, said the Chinese leader, highlighting the significance of political trust in each other, and mutual support for each other on development path as well as issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns.
The president thanked Cameroon for its adherence to the one-China policy, expressing hope that the two sides can cooperate more in industry, agriculture, energy, regional aviation, infrastructure and human resources.
Earlier Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Al-Jaafari in Beijing.
