GREEN BAY, Wisc. — A man was arrested for his seventh OWI after police say he threw stolen beer and meat out of his van with officers in pursuit. The Brown County Sheriff's Office received a call from a supermarket that Timothy Andrews, who was on their watch list for retail theft, was in the store. Authorities spotted Andrews inside a van in the parking lot and deputies say he claimed to have knives and gun when they approached him.Andrews refused to get out of the van, according to investigators, and sped away from the deputies, throwing stolen beer, meat and clothing out of the window during the high-speed chase. Authorities say the van lost control at least twice during the chase, as it weaved in and out of oncoming traffic on busy streets. "Pursuits are always a balance. You're always trying to balance public safety with the apprehension of the person. And in this case, this man was doing a lot of things," Brown County Sheriff's Capt. Dan Sandberg said. The van finally spun out of control and stopped on a residential street where the suspect was arrested. Andrews, 48, faces several charges in the case including 7th offense OWI, probation violation, obstructing an officer, shoplifting and retail theft.   1280

Harvard University has announced plans to bring back up to 40 percent of their student body back to campus this fall.They also stated all course instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level will be delivered online, whether or not students are on campus. The fall semester begins on September 2 at Harvard.Those being allowed back to campus are all first-year students and those who must be on campus to progress academically. “This will enable first-year students to benefit from a supported transition to college-level academic work and to begin to build their Harvard relationships with faculty and peers,” the statement read.Harvard said this is only for the fall semester and if current restrictions are in place next year, their priority would be to bring back graduating seniors for their last semester on campus.Those coming back to campus will be tested for COVID-19 once they arrive, and then re-tested every three days while they are on campus.“Without a vaccine or effective clinical treatments for the virus, we know that no choice that reopens the campus is without risk. GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) — Police in Texas say the actor Eddie Hassell has died in a shooting.The 30-year-old was known for his roles in the NBC show “Surface” and the 2010 film “The Kids Are All Right.”Police say the shooting happened early Sunday in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie.Officers responded to the shooting in the 3000 block of West Bardin Road at about 1:50 a.m. and located Hassell suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. First aid was rendered as the Waco resident was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.Police say they don't yet have a motive, but that a car had been taken from the scene of the shooting.
