(KGTV) -- The quest for Black Friday deals had San Diego malls packed Friday. But there were those who beat the crowds by getting their shopping done under the full moon.  "We started at like 8:30 [last night]," said one woman shopping with her sister at 4:30 a.m. at the Carlsbad Outlets. The mall had opened their Black Friday event at 6 p.m. Thursday with no closing time until 10 p.m. Friday. That meant those willing to shop all night, had free reign to scour the deals with a lot less competition.  "I think the only reason we're here at this time, said the woman, "is because there's no lines. And we can leave our kids at home. They're sleeping while we can shop."  Of course, an all night shopping event doesn't happen without workers.   "I started last night at 5pm." Said the manager of Joe's Jeans as the clock neared 5:30am.  Asked how she was holding up, she replied, "I'm doing good. I'm off in a little bit."  "Have a great day you guys." A door monitor at Tory Burch said to two customers leaving the store as she turned to others in line to get in. "I can let two in."  High end hand bags and purses, with prices slashed 50 to 75 percent, were selling fast.  Other irresistible deals were at the Disney Store.  "We've got Princess stuff. We have Toy Story stuff," said one mother sifting through bags of new toys. "It was about 250 dollars for everything in these bags. So, pretty good deal for three full bags of toys."  1567

(KGTV) — The coroner's office has identified a teenager killed after a student pulled out a handgun and fired at classmates at a Southern California high school Thursday.Gracie Anne Muehlberger, 15, died from her injuries in the shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita. One other student, a 14-year-old boy, also died at Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia, but his identity has not been released.Three other students, 14-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old girl, were injured in the shooting, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva. ABC News and CNN have identified the suspect as 16-year-old Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow.Berhow, a junior at the high school, died Friday from injuries after a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Sheriff's Homicide detectives told ABC News. Detectives said his mother was present at the time of his death.Investigators were still searching for a motive Friday. One detective said the shooting occurred on Berhow's 16th birthday."We have not yet established a motive or a nexus between the subject and his victims," Sheriff's Capt. Kent Wegener said Thursday. Officials added there's no history of Berhow being bullied or belief he "was acting on behalf of any group or ideology."Investigators said they believe the students injured were targeted at random, but added "it wasn't a spur of the moment act."It's unclear how Berhow reportedly acquired the firearm used in the attack. Several firearms were found in his home after investigators served a search warrant. Authorities added that Berhow's father, who's no longer alive, had six firearms registered to his name. None of those firearms matched the ones located by investigators."It's a sad day in Saugus, it's a sad day in Los Angeles County and the nation for another tragic shooting at a school," said Villanueva on Thursday.All schools in the William S. Hart Union High School District were closed Friday and counseling was made available to staff and students. (WXYZ) — A dramatic deer rescue caught on video shows officers in Michigan save a buck trapped in a net.Officers Thomas Goodrose and Justin Wells came face-to-face with a 10-point buck trapped in the net of a soccer goal at Bingham Farms Elementary on Monday morning.Noticing how panicked the deer was, the quick-thinking officers used a tool from their vehicle to help control the deer's legs while cutting netting that had started to close around the animal's neck. “Once he had it secure, we came up slow. Held the horn and heard it breathe and relax,” said Officer Thomas Goodrose with Franklin police. “It felt really good. You don’t come across this too much but it was really cool.”In the video, you can see the deer realize the netting is no longer attached, and run back into the wilderness.
