Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced on Tuesday an indictment against a Baltimore Police Officer seen punching a man in a viral video. The video was posted over the weekend and quickly spread around social media. It shows an officer, Arthur Williams, and a man yelling at each other, and then you see the officer punching the man. Williams is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and misconduct in office. The other officer seen in the video is not being charged. Mosby says her office has considered evidence that was public and transparent, but also other evidence as well. There is a warrant out for Williams arrest. 696

BELLEVILLE, Mich. — A Good Samaritan was placed in a bad situation on a metro Detroit highway. Now his close call is going viral on social media while also alerting motorists to beware and trust your instincts. It was around 10 p.m. on Sunday when John Hadyniak of Belleville, Michigan  was heading home driving down I-94. When he got near Belleville road, he saw a woman on the side of the road changing a flat tire. Hadyniak's first thought was to stop and give her a hand, then his red flag radar lit up like the Fourth of July. The trunk on the car was closed, said Hadyniak, who is also a mechanic, and he noticed there was no plate on the trunk of the car. "I noticed that there was no jack and she had a tire iron in her hand," Hadyniak said. "Things didn't add up. It was just a bad feeling."He listened to that gut feeling and pulled out a flashlight and shined it on the woman. "I put the flashlight on her when I got out of the car," he said. "And about 15 feet off the side of the road there was a guy laying in the grass. I hit him with the light. He got up and jumped in the car and took off down I-94"In that moment, Hadyniak thought of what could have transpired. Those "what ifs" are still swirling around in his head. "Worse case scenario, I could have got bopped in the head with that, laid dead on the side of the expressway," he said. "(They could have) robbed me, stole my car – everything. If I wouldn't have seen him, it would have been bad news."Hadyniak posted the phonies foiled plan on Facebook with a warning to folks to be smart and beware. BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- A Brooklyn karaoke bar with over 280 people inside was shut down over COVID-19 violations early Sunday, according to the New York City Sheriff's Office.Authorities shut down Legend KTV karaoke bar in Borough Park around 2 a.m.About 281 people were inside the location, which exceeded Department of Building occupancy and had a vacate order from 2018, the NYC sheriff said.The location’s liquor license was also revoked in 2019.The venue had windowless, private party rooms with 25 to 30 people inside, according to a law enforcement source.Inside one of the rooms was a young child who was running back and forth between tables, according to the source.While 281 people were inside, authorities believe there were likely more people as about 40 dispersed when the sheriff’s office arrived, the source said.At least six people were arrested for offenses, including child endangerment, authorities said.This story was originally published by Cristian Benavides and Kristine Garcia at WPIX. 1013

BEAUMONT, Calif. (KGTV) -- San Diego County Fire-Rescue announced Saturday that it sent firefighters from the department to help battle the Apple Fire burning in Riverside County.According to the agency, crews left early Saturday morning to join the fight against the blaze.Strike team deployments usually last 14 days, but can be reduced or last longer, depending on the incident, the department said.“California has a very strong mutual aid system and it kicks into gear for wildfires to support fire agencies in our state and others,” the agency added.The North County Fire Protection District said later in the day it sent two units to battle the blaze. The Poway Firefighters Association also said it sent crews to assist with the Apple Fire. As of Sunday morning, the fire had scorched 15,000 acres and was 0% contained, according to KABC. One home has so far been destroyed with another 2,500 threatened. The Apple Fire began as two separate blazes in Cherry Valley Friday evening. The fire erupted as temperatures throughout Southern California topped 100 degrees. 1081

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel says he's not stepping down amid criticism of his department's response to the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.Israel's declaration comes after a Florida state representative called on Gov.
