There is a nasty rumor out there that @SenatorCollins of Maine will not be supporting our great United States Supreme Court Nominee. Well, she didn’t support Healthcare or my opening up 5000 square miles of Ocean to Maine, so why should this be any different. Not worth the work!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 16, 2020 340
This year has been, unique, to say the least, and the holidays will be different and maybe lacking some familiar comfort food from family. Taco Bell is bringing back a menu item to give fans warmth and tradition.Nacho Fries will be available at participating locations nationwide starting on December 24. This is the second time this year the item will be available.“In a year as difficult and uncertain as this one was, we know that consumers crave the comforts they love most. That’s why we’re excited to bring back Nacho Fries for our passionate fans to close out this year and kick off 2021 positively and deliciously,” said Nikki Lawson, Taco Bell’s Chief Global Brand Officer, in a press release.Nacho Fries first appeared on the Taco Bell menu in January 2018.The fries are seasoned with what Taco Bell refers to as Mexican spices and served with a side of nacho cheese sauce.Other new menu items will be available on Christmas Eve, including a nacho taco, cravings pack and a new bacon chalupa. 1010

Thieves stole priceless royal artifacts in a daring raid on a Swedish cathedral before escaping by speedboat, police said. The thieves made off with crown jewels belonging to former Swedish monarchs Karl IX and Kristina from the Str?ngn?s Cathedral to the west of the capital, Stockholm, on Tuesday. Two crowns and a golden orb adorned with a crucifix were taken from the cathedral, which dates back to the 12th century, according to a police report. The items date from the early 17th century.A witness told Swedish media that he was eating lunch when he saw two people running toward a boat, which they sped away in.Police said several thieves were involved in the heist. They fled in an open-topped motorboat across the sea from the base of the church. Several police patrol boats as well as police helicopters joined a hunt for the perpetrators. The cathedral was placed on lockdown, CNN affiliate Expressen reported, and the search for the thieves continued on Wednesday."To a limited extent we are still looking for (them) both on the ground and at sea. We have no new findings so far," said Tor Sevelius, commanding officer at the police's management center.Police are investigating "any boat that may seem interesting," as the thieves may have switched to another craft, police spokesman Thomas Agnevik told Expressen. The three items stolen were part of the funeral regalia of the king and queen, and would have been buried with the monarchs, Christofer Lundgren, dean of the Str?ngn?s parish, told Expressen. They were later taken from the burial site and displayed to the public, he added. He said that while the items have monetary value, it pales in comparison to their significance to Sweden's cultural history."From our point of view, the material value is less important than the cultural history of these items. I do not see this as a theft from Str?ngn?s cathedral assembly. This is part of the national cultural heritage, this is a theft of Swedish society," Lundgren said.Police said they could not comment on the value of the items stolen. The cathedral was open to the public from 10 a.m., and the theft took place just before lunchtime. No one was injured or threatened during the robbery, Lundgren said. The heist has echoes of a daring robbery in Venice in January, when thieves mingled with other visitors to an exhibition before brazenly making off with gems from the Qatari royal collection. In that robbery, at least two people entered the Doge's Palace -- a popular tourist spot in Venice where a selection of Indian jewelry from the Qatari collection was on display to the public. One suspect acted as lookout while the other grabbed the jewels from a display case. 2696
Transgender members of the military will be able to re-enlist for service while President Donald Trump's directive barring transgender recruits is under review, the Pentagon has confirmed."Transgender service members whose term of service expires while the interim guidance is in effect, may, at the service member's request, re-enlist under existing procedures," US Army Col. Rob Manning, a Department of Defense spokesman, told reporters Friday. "Current transgender service members will continue serve throughout the military and continue to receive necessary medical treatment as prescribed by their medical provider in accordance with the Military Health System guidance."This is the first time the Pentagon has explicitly acknowledged that transgender service members will be able to re-enlist while it reviews Trump's ban on transgender recruits. 861
There are many questions and few answers after President Donald Trump announced that he and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus. One thing is for sure: The ripple effects from Trump’s diagnosis are extensive. The president said he and the first lady will isolate following their confirmed positive coronavirus test. That means Trump’s visit to Florida on Friday for a scheduled Make America Great Again rally is off. He was also scheduled for a roundtable with supporters in Washington on Friday. That is now canceled.Only one event now remains on Trump’s schedule for Friday: A phone call on COVID-19 support to vulnerable seniorsAlso, senior Trump aide Hope Hicks is isolating at home after she is confirmed to have the virus. It is unclear if other staffers who were in contact with Hicks and the president have also come down with the virus. Both Trump and Hicks were seen on Wednesday in Marine One in close contact with other staffers including Jared Kushner. With a now confirmed outbreak of the coronavirus inside the White House, a number of senior staffers, Secret Service agents, aides and others may be required to quarantine. How the White House will function with a president in isolation and senior staff in quarantine remains in question. But the president’s physician showed optimism that Trump can continue his duties as president.Dr. Sean Conley said, "Rest assured, I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering and I will keep you updated on any future developments."The CDC says that for those with confirmed coronavirus cases, isolation is necessary for 10 to 20 days.“For most persons with COVID-19 illness, isolation and precautions can generally be discontinued 10 days after symptom onset and resolution of fever for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and with improvement of other symptoms,” the CDC said. “A limited number of persons with severe illness may produce replication-competent virus beyond 10 days that may warrant extending duration of isolation and precautions for up to 20 days after symptom onset; consider consultation with infection control experts.”There are also questions on how this impacts Joe Biden’s campaign. Biden shared a stage with Trump on Tuesday, and senior staff of both candidates sat in the audience for Tuesday’s debate. Also, questions on what role Vice President Mike Pence will be forced to play in the coming weeks is in question. 2511
