BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Consultation between China and the United States on economic and trade issues will be constructive as long as the U.S. delegation comes with sincerity, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wednesday.
"Researchers should work on an advanced theoretical framework for warfare, which fits the unique conditions of the Chinese armed forces and conforms to the rules of modern warfare, in a bid to bring the Marxist military theories in contemporary China to a new stage," he said.
Over 100 Palestinian demonstrators have been killed and some 12,000 wounded by the Israeli forces since the new round of anti-occupation protests in Gaza began on March 30, among which at least 60 Palestinians were killed in just one day of May 14 when the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem officially opened despite international criticism.
"To achieve denuclearization, to end the hostility and confrontation lasting for more than 60 years, and to pursue lasting peace and prosperity of the peninsula and the region are in line with the development of the times and are the universal voice of the international community. The meeting and its achievements are an important step toward these goals."
The two sides will enhance their trade cooperation in such areas as energy, agriculture products, health care, high-tech products and finance, Liu said.
