Nevada Highway Patrol has found the driver who hit one of their patrol cars on Monday.It happened around 5:03 p.m. local time Monday. A trooper was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 95 northbound near Summerlin Parkway. Both vehicles were stopped on the right shoulder when another vehicle disregarded the Move Over Law and hit the trooper's vehicle.The collision resulted in the door being almost torn off. The driver of the other vehicle kept going.After the hit-and-run driver was found Tuesday, the person was ticketed but not arrested. She was issued citations for driving without a valid license, hit-and-run property damage and failure to stop and render aid, all misdemeanors.Fortunately, the trooper was not injured.NHP released body-camera video of the incident.  801

NEW ORLEANS ¡ª A Black man whose life sentence for stealing hedge clippers in a home burglary drew scathing criticism from the chief justice of Louisiana's Supreme Court has been granted parole. Louisiana's high court had denied release for 63-year-old Fair Wayne Bryant earlier this year for the 1997 burglary that netted him a set of hedge clippers. In dissent, Chief Justice Bernette Johnson said the habitual offender law under which Bryant was sentenced was a ¡°modern manifestation¡± of Jim Crow era laws aimed at jailing Black people for simple crime. Conditions of Bryant's parole include mandatory attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and community service. 678

Nominations for the 61st Grammy Awards were announced Friday and one of the nominees was brought to tears live on television.Singer Janelle Mon¨¢e -- along with Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes -- announced some the nominees on "CBS This Morning." Mon¨¢e became emotional when her "Dirty Computer" was announced for album of the year.She said she was moved because the project is "about community," especially the LGBT community of which she is a part."I hope they feel seen," Mon¨¢e said. "I hope they feel loved and I hope they feel celebrated."Rap artists Kendrick Lamar and Drake received the most nominations with eight and seven, respectively. Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile received six nominations.Fans of H.E.R., the singer/musician who wears sunglasses and guards her privacy to keep the focus on her music, had plenty to celebrate with her multiple nominations.She scored nods for best R&B album, album of the year and best new artist.Female artists dominated top categories this year. Next March, the monthly subscription price of Disney+ will increase by in the United States.During its annual Investors Day, Disney announced that beginning March 26, 2021, the monthly subscription price would cost .99. Its yearly subscription would increase by to .99.The Disney Bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu with ads, and ESPN+ would increase by to .99 per month, the company announced.The company also announced that in Europe, Disney+ would go from €6.99 to €8.99 per month, alongside the Star rollout, which debuts Feb. 23.The news comes after Netflix announced in October that they would raise the price on its standard and premium plans for its US subscribers. 698

NEW YORK, N.Y. ¨C Barnes & Noble has warned its customers of a cybersecurity attack which may have exposed consumer information.The bookstore chain informed its customers of the attack in an email Wednesday night, but said their payment information and other financial data has not been compromised, because it¡¯s encrypted and not accessible.However, the email obtained by CNN and Business Insider says the attack resulted in unauthorized access to company systems that do contain customers¡¯ email addresses, billing and shipping addresses, and telephone numbers.The company says it doesn¡¯t currently have evidence that this data has been exposed, but it cannot be ruled out at this stage in the investigation.The company says it learned of the attack on Saturday, Oct. 10.¡°We take the security of our IT systems extremely seriously and regret sincerely that this incident has occurred,¡± wrote Barnes & Noble. ¡°We know also that it is concerning and inconvenient to receive notices such as this. We greatly appreciate your understanding and thank you for being a Barnes & Noble customer.¡±The news of the cyber-attack comes one day after the business experienced a ¡°systems failure¡± that caused an outage to NOOK content.A spokesperson for the company told Business Insider that the attack was linked to the problems with NOOK and issues processing orders at its stores. 1388
