SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego judge said Thursday that his recent ruling protecting two strip clubs from California's stay-at-home order extends to all county restaurants.San Diego Superior Court Judge Joel R. Wohlfeil said Wednesday that strip clubs and "San Diego County businesses with restaurant service” cannot get a cease-and-desist order. Thursday, he reiterated his ruling, saying that it applies to all restaurants in the county, not just the strip clubs in question. "The court’s intention is that all businesses which provide restaurant service — meaning all restaurants in the County of San Diego — are encompassed in the scope of the court’s order. California's regional stay-at-home order went into effect after the Southern California region, which includes San Diego County, saw its ICU capacity dipped under 15%. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A nurse who pleaded guilty in the brutal death of her boyfriend's baby has been granted parole."Angry, angry," said Deanna Stanley, the grandmother of 7-month-old Nicole Alegado.Stanley spoke to 10News after attending a state parole board hearing Thursday and learning the woman who killed her granddaughter was granted parole.Back in 2008, in order to avoid a trial, the baby's family supported a plea deal. "Emotionally we couldn't handle it," said Stanley.Eileen Villamajor, a nurse living in National City, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the killing her boyfriend's daughter, saying she was frustrated by her cries. She was sentenced to 15 years to life."Eileen picked her up by the hair and threw her to the ground twice. Nicole remained crying. Eileen held her head in her hands until she heard it crack, at which time Nicole stopped crying," said Stanley.Stanley sat through those unbearable details at Villamayor's parole hearing in Corona. She listened to Villamayor's petition, including her good behavior in prison and completion of classes to control her emotions. Stanley is still convinced Villamayor is dangerous."For someone to do something that something horrific with their hands ... I don't know if you can cure that in a class," said Stanley.Stanely says Villamayor showed no remorse during the hearing but revealed something new about the motive, which involved about Nicole taking up her father's time."She said she hated Nicole, resented Nicole. To me that shows premeditation. If we had gone to trial, I think she would have been convicted of first-degree murder," said Stanley.In the end, the parole board deciding to grant Villamayor parole. She could serve 13 years and 7 months of a sentence of 15 years to life. Proposition 57 passed in 2016 allows her to accrue good behavior credits which can reduce a life sentence."There is no justice here," said Stanley.The earliest Villamayor can be released is March 2020. The family has 120 days to appeal to the governor's office to overturn the decision, which they plan to do. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A longtime North Park business has been forced to shutter its doors due to the economic toll of the pandemic.A&B Sporting Goods has sat on University Ave. for 79 years. The business told ABC 10News that it thrives off of local youth sports, which have largely been canceled this year due to the coronavirus.Owner Greg Schloss, whose father and grandfather worked at the store before him, said he hadn't planned on closing shop, but could not keep the business going any longer."I've worked here 40 years. The neighborhood is driven by a lot of kids playing ball in this neigborhood. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new reality television series focused on the day-to-day operation and conservation efforts of the San Diego Zoo will premiere Aug. 10 on Animal Planet.The cable channel had two crews shoot five days a week for more than four months to capture behind-the-scenes video at the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Cameras were allowed into locations rarely seen by the general public, including inside the veterinary hospitals at the two sites."A lot of people don't know all that goes on behind the scenes and this show is basically that opportunity for anybody to peek in and spend time behind the scenes with the keepers," said San Diego Zoo Ambassador Rick Schwartz.There will be ten episodes, each an hour long.
