A man is being charged with assault after fighting with an IHOP manager last week after the manager asked the party to leave a IHOP in Memphis, WREG-TV reported. According to WREG, the IHOP manager asked Malachi O'Kelley's party of five to leave for being loud. A video of the incident shows most of the party leaving when O'Kelley allegedly attacked the manager. One of the members of the party threw a chair at the manager during the scuffle. Other members of the party also threw plates at IHOP employee. The manager responded by throwing a chair at one of the members of the party.WREG reported the manager received multiple stitches to the back of his head, above the eye and near the eyebrow. No other people have been charged in connection to last week's incident. The manager is reportedly back to work, and is looking at increasing security at the restaurant.  Note: Viewers may find video of incident disturbing 984

A doctor is opening up about working at one of the first hospitals in the country dedicated solely to treating people with severe cases of COVID-19.“Hope gave way to frustration as heartwarming images of mutual sacrifice were replaced by images of protest about the sanctity of dining out and getting haircuts,” said Dr. Ben Trappey at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. “Now, even frustration has given way to bone deep sense of weariness and resignation. I’m running on fumes.”Trappey spent nearly three months away from his wife, quarantining at a hotel while caring for patients at Bethesda Hospital near Minneapolis.He destresses through reflective writing and teaches it to other residents and physicians.His essay “Running on Fumes” was recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). A hiker fell to his death on Monday while ascending Yosemite National Park's famous Half Dome trail, the US National Park Service said.The hiker was on the trail's Half Dome cables, the park service said in a statement. He was hiking with another person during thunderstorm activity around 4:30 p.m. when he slipped and fell.The cables take hikers up the last 400 feet to the summit of Half Dome, which rises nearly 5,000 feet above California's Yosemite Valley.Park rangers were notified and went to the scene to assist the second hiker, the NPS said. The missing hiker's body was found around 1 p.m. Tuesday.His identity will be released after his family is notified.The death is the first on the Half Dome cables since 2010 and the first visitor fatality in 2018, the park service said. 797

The press release from CAL FIRE reads, “Those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible.”A spokesman for California’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as CAL FIRE, told The Daily Mail the family whose device started the El Dorado Fire could be liable for the entire bill for the destruction.The couple was reportedly still at the park where the fire started when firefighters arrived.“We know how it started because they were still there,” Bennet Milloy with CAL FIRE told The Daily Mail. “That, and the fact that there were surveillance cameras in the park.”Milloy says they could face a variety of criminal charges, which could increase if homes and buildings are destroyed.
