(KGTV) — Disneyland cast members, fans, and local officials rallied outside of Disneyland to call for California to reopen shuttered theme parks throughout the state.Demonstrators, with signs in hand blurring the line between Disney quotes and calls for action, gathered on Saturday to demand Gov. Gavin Newsom announce guidance for Disneyland and other theme parks to reopen amid the pandemic."If Disneyland is open world-wide then why can't Disneyland in Anaheim be open," one employee told KABC. "I think the governor needs to give us a chance to reopen and they keep asking and he keeps pushing the bar farther back."This month, Disney announced it plans to lay off 28,000 employees partially because of California's reluctance to reopen theme parks. The parks have been closed since mid-March when many coronavirus closures began.The guidance was reportedly set to be released soon in September, until Newsom said that the state will take its time before issuing rules."We are going to be led by a health-first framework and we’re going to be stubborn about it," Newsom said earlier this month. "That’s our commitment — that’s our resolve. We feel there’s no hurry putting out guidelines."Newsom added, "it’s very complex. These are like small cities, small communities, small towns. (KGTV) - A SpaceX Falcon 9 unmanned rocket will launch from Florida Wednesday afternoon with a planet-searching satellite on board for NASA.The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) is part of a mission to find exoplanets that periodically block part of the light from their host stars, events called transits, NASA said.TESS will survey the nearest and brightest stars for two years to search for transiting exoplanets, according to scientists. NASA’s satellite will look for stars 30 to 100 times brighter than those observed by the Kepler satellite launched in 2009.TESS also will scan a larger area than Kepler, NASA officials said. It will spend about a month at a time focusing on one portion of sky, eventually covering the entire sky. Jacobs is the granddaughter of Qualcomm co-founder Irwin Jacobs. (KGTV) - A San Diego County psychiatrist who reportedly had offices in Chula Vista, San Ysidro, Kearny Mesa and El Cajon was in custody Thursday on suspicion of sexual battery and having sex with a patient.Leon Fajerman, 75, was charged with five counts in an arrest warrant issued Wednesday.Among the charges was a violation of Business and Professions Code 729(a), which details that any physician, psychiatrist or counselor who has sexual relations with a patient or terminates a relationship with a patient for the purpose of having sexual contact is guilty of sexual exploitation.In September 2017, court records showed that Fajerman assaulted three female patients, including one who said he groped her breasts and buttocks, according to the Union-Tribune.The complaints were turned in to the Medical Board of California. Fajerman surrendered his medical license May 15, 2018.Fajerman received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires and had been in practice for more than 20 years, according to US News. 1033

(KGTV) — California has released guidance on allowing outdoor services, like religious services and protests, amid the coronavirus pandemic.Initially, the state released guidance for indoor religious services to be held at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is less. San Diego Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said Monday that the guidance has been expanded to not only outdoor religious services, but cultural services, constitutionally-protected activities, and weddings provided physical distancing is practiced."That remains in place for indoor services, but they have expanded that outdoor services can occur provided that they can maintain physical distance between individuals. So they're allowing whatever the natural surroundings allow for provided that you can physically distance between individuals. You can do outdoor services without a limitation on the number of people," Fletcher said.In San Diego County, a facial covering requirement for people within six feet of non-household members is also still in effect.Guidance on religious and cultural services, and other open services in San Diego County can be found online here. 1147
