(KGTV) — A Border Patrol agent and one man were taken to a nearby hospital after suffering heat-related illness on Otay Mountain.At about 1 p.m., Border patrol agents started a rescue involving four individuals, including one Border Patrol agent and three suspected migrants, according to U.S. Border Patrol.When agents arrived, an agent as located and taken to the hospital. One man was also found and sent to the hospital.Border agents were still searching for the two other people in the Otay Mountain Wilderness area, according to Border Patrol. 579

PARADISE HILLS (CNS) - A 28-year-old man and his 27-year-old passenger were injured today after the 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle they were riding crashed into a stationary vehicle in the Paradise Hills neighborhood of San Diego.The collision happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6400 block of Potomac Street, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.``The driver lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a parked vehicle,'' Heims said. ``The driver sustained broken knees along with several other injuries.''The passenger suffered a dislocated right hip. Both were transported to a local hospital.A San Diego Police Traffic Division investigation determined the crash occurred, at least in part, because of substance intoxication. 774

PARKER, Colo. — When 22-year-old Hannah McNeill went to sleep one night in August earlier this year, she had no idea her life was going to be dramatically altered. She woke up, couldn't move her legs and eventually was diagnosed with a rare polio-like disease that is now on the rise in Colorado."You never think it would happen to you so you don't prepare for it," she told KMGH. Acute flaccid myelitis is a spinal disease caused by a form of enterovirus. It's extremely rare and usually impacts children, causing loss of feeling and use of the arms or legs. It can leave children with permanent paralysis. "I was trying to move my toes and my feet and nothing would happen," she explained. "I knew what I wanted to do but I couldn’t pull my leg up, couldn’t take a step."Health officials report 14 cases in Colorado so far in 2018. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said of those cases 11 people tested positive for enterovirus A71, one tested positive for enterovirus D68 and two people tested negative for any type of enterovirus."While all the patients were hospitalized, nearly all have fully recovered. There have been no deaths," CDPHE's Shannon Barbare said in a statement. But McNeill still hasn't fully recovered. "I still don't have all my leg strength which is why I'm in a wheelchair," she said."There is no vaccination or specific treatment for enteroviruses. People with mild illness typically need treatment only for symptoms," Barbare said in a statement. "However, some illnesses caused by EV-A71 and EV-D68 can be severe enough to require hospitalization."Colorado has previously had outbreaks of the less-common enterovirus types. Enterovirus D68 sickened 11 people with AFM. Enterovirus A71 caused similar epidemics to this year's in 2003 and 2005, the CDPHE said.The CDC has a web page devoted to AFM. It says that most patients afflicted by the disease are children and that scientists have not yet determined a single pathogen detected in patients’ spinal fluid that causes AFM.But in McNeill's case, she said she's not done getting back to her normal life. She goes to physical therapy three times a week and has been making progress in the weeks since she was released from the hospital. "Two months ago I couldn’t walk, now I can in my walker," she said. PARADISE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Pacific Gas and Electric could face murder or manslaughter charges if it were found responsible for starting the deadly Camp Fire, according to CNN. The company could face a range of criminal charges if any of the wildfires broke out as a result of improperly maintained power lines. Potential charges range from misdemeanors related to clearing vegetation around power lines to "homicide offenses like implied-malice murder and involuntary manslaughter."Attorney General Xavier Becerra has yet to come to a conclusion about the company’s responsibility in the recent fires. PERRY HALL, Md. - Baltimore County Police say they have four teenage suspects in custody that are suspected to be involved in the death of an officer. At least one of the suspects is facing murder charges. On Monday around 2 p.m. ET, officer Amy Caprio was killed in the line of duty while investigating suspicious activity in Perry Hall. She was almost a four-year veteran of the force. Tuesday morning, police announced that a 16-year-old Dawnta Anthony Harris was arrested shortly after the death of that officer. Police were called to the scene after a woman said a black Jeep Wrangler was near her home, and three suspicious subjects were walking around. The woman stayed on the phone with a dispatcher and said that the three people had broken in and that an officer was on the ground after confronting the driver of the Jeep. Another witness says they saw the Wrangler drive over Caprio, and then drive away, according to the charging documents.Shortly after, another person called 911 saying that she found the Jeep Wrangler was abandoned nearby. A description of the driver was sent out over the police radio and officers were able to find the driver who was later identified as Harris. Charging documents continue to say that Harris admitted that he was waiting in the driver's seat of the Jeep Wrangler while his other associates were burglarizing the house. He then said he tried to drive away in the Wrangler when he saw Caprio arrive in the area. He tried to flee, but Caprio followed him to a cul-de-sac.Caprio demanded he exit the car. He opened the door slightly, shut it, and then drove toward her. He then admitted leaving the Wrangler where it was later found nearby, according to the documents. Harris has been charged with first-degree murder. A spokesperson with police did say the teenager will be charged as an adult.Baltimore County Police say Harris' associates are in custody and they are all teenage boys. Detectives have verified that the group were involved in burglaries in the area. Officers will be canvassing for property stolen during the burglaries on Tuesday.  2176
