EL CAJON (KGTV) -- Multiple people were injured Thursday night when a car crashed into a Mexican food restaurant in El Cajon. The crash happened at 7:37 p.m. at the Sombrero Mexican Food restaurant located at 1501 E. Washington Avenue.Four employees were inside the restaurant at the time, according to El Cajon Police. All of them received minor injuries, and one of them was taken to the hospital.El Cajon officers tried to stop the driver of the car earlier in the evening but stopped the pursuit because it was unsafe. A short while later, the driver plowed into the restaurant. It's not clear why the officers were attempting to stop him.The driver tried to run from the scene following the crash, but officers were able to arrest him.
