SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An unfounded "security threat" prompted Naval Base San Diego to initiate a lockdown Thursday afternoon, authorities said.The lockdown went into effect just before 11:30 a.m. over a reported "security threat," according to a Naval Base San Diego public information officer. According to San Diego Harbor Police, the threat was unfounded.Base officials lifted the lockdown and resumed normal operations just before 12 p.m., but didn't comment on the lockdown. 484

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of running over and killing a man she had been arguing with at a Kearny Mesa parking lot. San Diego police said 33-year-old Latisha Ingram and an unidentified 25-year-old man were arguing in a parking lot in the 4600 block of Convoy Street at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when the altercation escalated. Kiana Smith was in the middle of her shift at Rakiraki ramen restaurant when she heard the noise outside. Ingram was belligerent, Smith said, adding she had been turned away by a bartender at O’Brien’s. "She turned her down because she was way too drunk, then she made her way this way, and a server saw her before I did, saying she was way too drunk, she couldn't even walk." Smith told 10News the male victim, who had been waiting on a table with his girlfriend, was trying to stop Ingram from driving. "It looked like she was trying to get in her car, but she was obviously way too drunk to drive, so the guy was trying to stop her from driving,” said Smith. According to police, Ingram then drove away while the man was holding onto her car. Police said Ingram drove out of the parking lot and turned southbound onto Convoy Street when the man let go and was allegedly run over. "He ended up on the hood, and she made the right turn, and he completely flew off," said Smith.The man was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said. 10News learned Ingram returned to the area about 30 minutes later and was arrested without incident. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An investigation is underway to find the driver in a hit-and-run crash that injured two passengers in City Heights.Police say the female driver crashed into multiple parked cars on Fairmount Avenue just after midnight on Wednesday.Witnesses told police they heard the crash, and then saw the driver jump out of the car and run, leaving the two female passengers behind.Both women managed to crawl out of the mangled car with the help of nearby neighbors. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An apparent SDG&E scam reported by a North County couple turned out to be an actual warning to evacuate, just not for them.The power company is calling a recent interaction with a Poway family a "misunderstanding," after the family believed they had been scammed by someone posing as the company.The Chavez family told 10News this week they received a phone call from someone saying they worked for SDG&E, telling them they needed to evacuate their home while work was being using a helicopter.The message said, “it requires a helicopter. The helicopter is required from the FAA to have certain properties, like yourself, evacuate the home.”ORIGINAL STORY: Family urging San Diegans to be aware of a possible new SDG&E scamAfter calling SDG&E to confirm, they were told there was no work going on in their area. The family believed they had been scammed. But it turns out, the phone call was true — for a different neighborhood.According to SDG&E, FAA does require residents to leave their homes when work is being done in their area requiring a helicopter and special construction.However, when the Chavez family called SDG&E, they didn't use the number the original caller provided.
