OCEANSIDE (CNS) - A pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing an Oceanside highway late Saturday night, police said.The crash was reported to police shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of state Route 76 and Douglas Drive, according to Oceanside police Sgt. Rick Davis.Officers found a man lying unresponsive in eastbound lanes of Route 76.Davis said according to witness statements and evidence at the crash scene, investigators believe the pedestrian was crossing Route 76 from north to south against a red light, and was hit by a car heading east on the highway with a green light.The driver, who was not injured, immediately stopped and waited for police to arrive, Davis said. Police did not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.The name of the victim was not immediately released. 826

IBCCES says that Sesame Place is "the first theme park in the world to receive such a distinction."Sesame Place is located at 100 Sesame Road in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The park features rides, shows, parades, and full size characters and opens for the season on April 28 at 10:00 a.m.The Sesame team members were trained in sensory awareness, motor skills, autism overview, program development, social skills, communication, environment, and emotional awareness, so that staff members can cater to all guests who visit the park.One of the most helpful outcomes of this certification is the IBCCES?Sensory Guide, which breaks down each of the rides' stimuli. This guide grades the rides in terms of touch, taste, sound, smell, and sight stimulation. The senses are scored from 1, which is a low stimulation, to 10, which is a high stimulation.The park has quiet rooms for guests needing to recover from sensory stimulation from the rides. They also have noise-canceling headphones, or WhispEars, on a first come, first served basis for guests with hearing sensitivity. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A man was taken into custody in Oceanside on Monday morning after police say he broke into a short-term rental and sexually assaulted a woman. The sexual assault happened around 4 a.m. on the 800 block of South Pacific Street. According to police, Kwahmell Archer entered the home through an unlocked front door. Oceanside Police said there were 20 people inside the three-story rental when the suspect walked into a closet, got undressed and entered a sleeping woman’s bedroom. The 49-year-old woman woke up and screamed when the man grabbed her, waking up the rest of the house. Police said the suspect then ran back into the closet and was pinned inside by other people inside the house. Police arrived and took the man into custody. 773

(KGTV) — Police Saturday released a sketch of man who they say grabbed a 16-year-old in a "bear hug" and tried to kidnap her on her way to school.The teenager was walking to El Camino High School on Thursday just before 7:30 a.m. when the suspect walked past her on Mesa Drive, Oceanside Police say. As the two crossed paths, the suspect turned around and grabbed her in a "bear hug." He also has a scab on the right side of his neck. The suspect was last seen wearing a tan pullover sweatshirt and black baggy, dirty jeans.
