Trenelle Cannon will be in court again on Friday for reportedly resisting arrest. He is currently being held on ,000 bail. A 12-second-long video that surfaced on social media showed Cannon being struck by police officers. Video later released by police showed what happened in the moments leading up the incident. In the bodycam and helicopter video, Cannon can be seen tackling a police officer before other officers get involved. He was booked into jail and charged with carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, robbery, and identity theft, according to SDPD."A 12 second video of this arrest was shared on social media without any context or details provided," police said in a news release.According to police, undercover officers had been conducting surveillance of Cannon on the 600 block of E Street in Chula Vista when they requested uniform officers to arrest him. SDPD Chief David Nisleit said Cannon then fled from officers, forcing police to give chase. At some point during the chase, a weapon was recovered where a witness last saw Cannon.Nisleit said Cannon was located once again in the area of 1100 4th Ave., where he got into a car with four others. The vehicle then proceeded to get onto Interstate 5, where officers conducted a traffic stop.During the traffic stop, Nisleit said Cannon tackled an officer to the ground, prompting multiple officers to assist in an arrest. Nisleit said officers feared Cannon had another weapon and used a "combination of physical force and distraction strikes" to restrain him."This is a very important key to note, once restrained and no longer a threat to officers no additional force was used on Cannon," Nisleit said.Nisleit said Cannon and the officers involved were not injured, aside from slight abrasions.Internal Affairs detectives were notified of the arrest and will evaluate officers' use of force and whether they followed policy. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Police officers and San Diego County Sheriff's deputies surrounded a South Bay home Friday in a SWAT standoff.San Diego Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle near Orange Avenue and Interstate 805 in Chula Vista for a vehicle violation at about 12 p.m., according to SDSO. Deputies were working a multi-agency narcotics operation when the stop occurred.A passenger, identified as Fernando Salas, fled the vehicle shortly after the stop was initiated. Salas resisted deputies' attempted to detain him, SDSO said, resulting in minor injuries to one deputy.Salas fled into a home in the 1400 block of Camellia Court, prompting a standoff.The occupants of the home forced Salas to surrender and he was taken into custody by deputies on charges of resisting a deputy, according to SDSO. The driver of the stopped vehicle, identified as Daniel Garcia, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of metal knuckles.A person inside the home, identified as Angel Garcia, was also arrested for felony child endangerment for "his actions during the incident," according to SDSO.Several individuals ran from the home. Officers and deputies handcuffed as many as 12 people and placed them in U.S. Border Patrol or Sheriff's department vehicles. (KGTV) -- A man died Friday after a fight broke out at a party in Chula Vista, police say.Chula Vista Police say they were called to the 1100 block of Ocelot Avenue around 11:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a loud party.After arriving on scene, bystanders directed officers to the 400 block of East Oxford in reference to a fight.When they arrived, police found two men bleeding from unknown injuries. "It's been the most traumatic experience in my entire life," said Dean.Doctors initially told Dean that his wife likely wouldn't survive; she fractured her skull in 10 different places and was in a coma. "They were asking me to quite honestly start to get stuff in order, they didn't feel she would make it out of the first few days," remembers Dean.But each day, Karen continued to beat the odds. By day 32 she was out of the coma and began to show movement in her hands and feet. Weeks later, she was in rehab beginning to walk. "I didn't really know exactly what happened and I was in pain, I still am in pain, but I'm capable of moving, and my memory is good!" said Karen.After 69 days in the hospital and rehab, Karen was finally able to go home on Friday. "I'm the happiest man on this planet. I tell her every day thank you for being my wife, every day. I'm the most fortunate man in the world, I get to keep loving her," said Dean.
