Up to 81 million Americans will travel by car, a decline of at least 25% compared to last year, according to AAA.As has been the trend this year, far less people will fly this holiday season. AAA says as many as 2.9 million travelers are expected to book flights for the holidays, a decline of nearly 60% from 2019.For those who do choose to travel despite the risks, it’s important to take steps that can help keep yourself and others safe.AAA says to plan ahead by checking with state and local officials along your route and at your destination to learn about local guidance and any restrictions in place. Students are demanding change after the deadly Florida High School shooting.On Monday, a group of teens from Maryland held a lie-in near the White House to stand with the victims of last week's mass shooting.The group, called Teens for Gun Reform, held the lie-in at 12:15 p.m. between the White House and Lafayette Park. Texas Southern University in Houston evacuated its campus on Wednesday due to a bomb threat received by the Houston Police Department directed at the university. The university announced on its social media channels that all classes are canceled for the rest of the day, and that all students, faculty and employees should evacuate campus. Houston Police said it received the threat via its emergency call center around 1:40 p.m. CT on Wednesday. As of late Wednesday afternoon, there have not been any confirmed bombs found on campus. Texas Southern is a public historically black university with an enrollment of nearly 10,000. 667
