GENEVA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Sun Chunlan, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), who is on a visit to Switzerland, met with Swiss Federal Councilor and Economic Minister Johann Schneider-Ammann on Monday in Bern, capital of the central European country.

During the meeting, Wang said China and South Africa enjoy broad prospect of cooperation. He called on both sides to earnestly implement both presidents' consensus, taking the opportunity of the first meeting of the China-South Africa inter-ministerial joint working group to promote cooperation on trade, investment, infrastructure, finance and other areas.

He said Chinese and South Korean media's joint efforts have contributed to current China-South Korean relations. Strengthening media ties of both sides is in accordance with people's expectations and interests, he said, adding he hopes both Chinese and South Korean media could enlarge news coverage of each other and continue enhancing the quality and level of media cooperation.

The pledge was made during talks between Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wajed, who is also here for the second China-South Asia Expo in Kunming of southwest China's Yunnan Province.

Describing the hotspot issues that have emerged globally, he said that "just when you press the gourd into the water, there floats the gourd ladle," referring to a traditional Chinese saying that means "tackling one problem only to find another emerging."
