A Wisconsin man says a dog's lick caused him to get a bacterial infection that eventually led to him having to have his legs amputated.Greg Manteufel's wife Dawn said her husband was once a Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider and was healthy just one month ago. He became ill with what they initially believed to be influenza.Blood tests revealed capnocytophaga, the bacteria that spread throughout Manteufel's body. After President Donald Trump announced early Friday morning that he tested positive for COVID-19, many are wondering what happens if a president becomes incapacitated.White House Physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memo that the president and First Lady Melania Trump "are both well at this time," but did not say whether they were experiencing symptoms of the virus.Trump, who is 74 years old, meets several categories that science found makes COVID-19 symptoms worse — his age, his gender, and his weight. The president is technically obese through his body-mass index.The 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which was adopted on Feb. 10, 1967, deals with the issues of presidential succession and who runs the country if the president is incapacitated.Section 3 of the 25th Amendment allows the president to submit, in writing, that he is not able to discharge the powers of the office. In that case, the president will voluntarily transfer the authority to the vice president, but the VP does not become president and the president remains in office.Section 3 was invoked under President Ronald Reagan when he underwent a colonoscopy, and twice under President George W. Bush when he underwent colonoscopies.In the case of Trump, he could voluntarily transfer power to Vice President Mike Pence if he believes it is necessary.Section 4 also gives the president's Cabinet the ability to strip him of power if the Cabinet believes he has become incapacitated. This Section has not been invoked. Amazing, up-close video shows a tour guide's GoPro camera becoming engulfed in a Hawaii lava flow.Erik Storm said it happened by accident while he was guiding a tour in Kalapana in August 2016.Storm said he used a rock hammer to extract the camera after the lava began to cool and harden.He thought it had surely been destroyed, but was amazed to see the blue Wi-Fi light still blinking. Although four people were killed, and 10 others were wounded by a gunman targeting a Northern California elementary school on Tuesday, authorities said the incident could have been more tragic.According to Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston, when school administrators heard gunshots ringing out nearly 1/4 mile from the school, the school immediately went into lockdown mode without the prompting of police. This, Johnston said, prevented an even worse tragedy at the school.“The shooter took his vehicle and rammed their fence and gate and entered the (school) grounds on foot with a semi-automatic rifle,” Johnston said. “It appears he couldn’t make access to the room and he gave up and reentered the vehicle.”Johnston confirmed that no children from the school were killed, but one was wounded. Johnston said that after being thwarted at the school, he went on a rampage in the community, as there were seven different shooting locations throughout Rancho Tehama.The Corning Union School District commended the effort of its employees. "School staff is commended for their courageous and professional response to this terrible incident. The school was able to go on lockdown very quickly and effectively, which prevented any further injury or violence," the district said in a statement.Rancho Tehama Elementary School educates students Kindergarten through Grade 5. 1415
