A 41-year-old Sheboygan, Wisconsin mom faces multiple charges after she had her 12-year-old daughter driver her car after she was drinking.According to the criminal complaint, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office was called to I-43 at County Road V on Sunday, March 18 around 5:30 p.m. local time — after a 911 caller reported a child driving a Chevy Equinox SUV on the freeway while sitting on her mother’s lap.The deputy caught up to the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he noted a strong smell of intoxicants coming from inside. He also saw the 12-year-old girl was in the back seat and the mother, Amanda Hauke, was behind the wheel.The mother initially denied that the girl was driving the car in her lap – but later admitted that it was true. The 12-year-old girl also told the deputy that she did this.During a field sobriety test, the mother admitted to drinking roughly four hours before she was pulled over. A preliminary breath test was performed and showed Hauke’s blood alcohol level was .126. She was then arrested. After she was arrested, Hauke then admitted to authorities she had consumed “a couple glasses of wine with a co-worker at a bar between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. that afternoon.”Hauke is charged with: 1306

(KGTV) -- The Department of Homeland Security is requesting US troops build temporary facilities to house up to 7,500 detained migrant adults, according to ABC News. The department would “loan and erect” the tents in support of ICE, the Pentagon told ABC. "DOD will not provide detention or custodial support for detained aliens at these ICE detention facilities," a spokesperson for the Pentagon said. "ICE is responsible for detention or custodial support."RELATED: TSA to deploy hundreds, including air marshals, to borderThe tents were requested at six locations along the border, but specific locations are unclear at this time. The announcement comes as the Pentagon shifted .5 billion to a counter-drug account that will be used to build roughly 80 miles of border wall, according to ABC. (LEX 18) — A new poll released Tuesday shows Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has a sizable lead over his Democratic challenger in Kentucky's U.S. Senate race.The Morning Consult poll, which surveyed 793 likely voters, showed McConnell leads retired Marine Lt. Colonel Amy McGrath by 17 points, 53% to 36%.The poll found that if the 2020 election were held today, 84% of Republicans would vote for McConnell, and 79% of Democrats say they would vote for McGrath. Newsom and the state’s Department of Public Health said guidelines for reopening theme parks, concerts, sporting events, and other mass gatherings could be issued this week.Some expect an announcement to be made as soon as Friday.Earlier this week, Disney announced 28,000 employees would be laid off at Disneyland and Disney World parks. Company officials placed part of the blame on Newsom for failing to issue reopening guidelines for theme parks sooner.When asked if he was giving in to pressure from Disney and other theme parks to reopen prematurely, Newsom said, “We are not putting the health and safety of people visiting the state or recreating the state at the parks at risk.”Michelle Steel, chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, criticized the state for “dragging its feet” on issuing reopening guidelines for theme parks, specifically Disneyland in Anaheim and Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park.“We need these parks to reopen not for our children and tourists but our businesses and communities that rely on them,” Steel said. “I am disappointed at the lack of progress California has made in this and every other area while other governments have made safe reopenings of their theme parks. A 66-year-old woman was arrested and preliminarily charged Wednesday with driving into protesters in Indiana.According to the Associated Press, the woman police arrested was Christi Bennett.Hundreds of people were rallying and protesting through Bloomington Monday, following an alleged racist attack at Lake Monroe where several men attacked and apparently attempted to lynch Vauhxx Booker, a Monroe County Human Rights commissioner.Police say an electric scooter had been left in the roadway and a red Toyota passenger car drove up to it. A male passenger then got out and threw the scooter out of the lane of travel. That's when police say a woman approached the vehicle and stood in front of it with her hands on the hood.The vehicle then began to accelerate, according to police, causing the woman to go up onto the hood of the car. A man then grabbed the car and clung to the side of it as it accelerated rapidly on Walnut Street. The man and woman remained on the vehicle until it turned abruptly onto eastbound 6th Street, throwing both people off, according to police.Police say the owner of the car was staying at a motel in Scottsburg, Indiana. They traveled to Scottsburg and detained the man and woman involved. The man was interviewed and released.
