The crash happened on the 1000 block of Highland Avenue in National City at the Pho 7 Cow restaurant around 2 p.m.An employee of a nearby jewelry store said scene was chaotic, describing the vehicle as going all the way into the building. Their condition is unknown at this time, but a witness said they didn’t appear serious. Roughly 20 people were eating lunch when the car crashed into the front of the restaurant, according to the owner. Surveillance video from inside the restaurant shows the car plow through the front and into a large aquarium near the door. 10News learned all of the fish inside the aquarium died.The owner said the woman driving the car may have accidentally pushed the gas instead of the brake. Inspectors from the city and fire department arrived shortly after the crash to check out the building. The owner was told the structure is sound. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A sixth robbery suspect was taken into custody following an hours-long SWAT standoff in City Heights Friday afternoon. (CNN) -- A task force that looked into scores of horse deaths at California's Santa Anita Park found no animal cruelty or criminal activity, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said Thursday.The number of horses that were being euthanized or dying after accidents at the famed facility gained nationwide attention when officials briefly suspended racing in early March over concerns about the number of deaths."Horse racing has inherent risks but is a legally sanctioned sport in California," Lacey, who led the panel of prosecutors and investigators, said. "Greater precautions are needed to enhance safety and protect both horses and their riders."RELATED: 3-year-old horse euthanized after suffering injury at Del MarThe task force looked into the 56 deaths that occurred between July 1, 2018, and November 30, 2019, and "did not find evidence of criminal animal cruelty or unlawful conduct relating to the equine fatalities."The task force, formed in March, had recommendations for post-death investigations, identifying preexisting conditions, track maintenance and enforcement.
