SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Customers at two Walmart stores in the North County say they received hundreds of dollars in fake bills.Last Thursday night, Billy Wagner went to the Walmart on Center Drive in San Marcos and cashed out a ,000 money transfer from a friend on the east coast."Watched the lady count the money on the counter three times," said Wagner.On the same night - and about five miles away in Escondido - John Whittingham stopped by the Walmart Neighborhood Market on East Valley Parkway to cash a check, receiving four 0 bills. "You won't believe it. These two 0 bills are counterfeit. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Civil right activists and lawyers are hoping the court system can force San Diego County law enforcement agencies to change the way they deal with protests.On Thursday, a group of lawyers announced a half-dozen claims and lawsuits against the La Mesa Police Department, San Diego Police Department and the San Diego County Sheriff's Department for what they call unnecessary use of force during recent protests.Dante Pride represents four of the claimants, including Leslie Furcron, the woman hit in the head by a bean bag round fired during a protest outside La Mesa police headquarters on May 30.Pride said Furcron suffered multiple fractures in her face, has no vision in her left eye, has problems walking, has problems remembering, and difficulty with balance.RELATED: Woman shot with bean bag round in the face during La Mesa protest makes public statement"All because she decided to come out, as she is entitled to do, and protest," said Pride.Pride’s other clients have injuries ranging from broken fingers to severe cuts and contusions from being hit by what officers call "less lethal" rounds."The manner in which these things were used, shot indiscriminately into crowds, these are lethal methods being used," said Pride.Other claims stem from protests across the city in the days that followed.Gerald Singleton said his two clients are the "epitome" of peaceful protesters, who were simply standing in the crowd when they were hit by what he calls "rubber bullets.""Anybody who embraces this movement is, unfortunately, under the current police culture, viewed as an enemy, and they're treated accordingly,” Singleton said.RELATED: La Mesa woman hospitalized following protests, family saysThe claims ask for monetary damages to cover medical expenses. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Anxiety is growing along La Jolla Boulevard after months of drive-by vandals shattering the windows of businesses, homes and cars."It's a little terrifying, random, and I don't know when it's going to happen," said David Heine.Heine owns Beaumont's Eatery. Last Saturday, just before 7 p.m., a customer parked a car across the street."Just crossed the street onto the sidewalk, when we heard the smash. Their car window shattered. At the same time, rocks came through our awning," said Heine.Heine says the rocks tore through the vinyl awning and struck his hostess, who wasn't injured."The rocks bounced past kids on the patio. It's a dangerous situation," said Heine.It's a danger that isn't going away. The incident is the latest of five similar incidents here in the past few months. Along a mile-and-a-half stretch of La Jolla Blvd., a similar story has been unfolding: Kitchen and car windows shattered, along with windows of other businesses like the Baskin-Robbins.Megan Murphy, co-owner of Verdes El Ranchero restaurant, just finished replacing her second rock shattered window.
