DUBAI — Chinese tech firms have ramped up presence at the 37th Gitex Technology Week, the biggest Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) fair in the Middle East, which opened here Sunday.
Dang Junwu, deputy director of the China Research Center on Aging, said elderly human resources, which are underdeveloped in China's urban areas partly due to the low retirement age, have advantages over the younger workforce by being inexpensive and stable. "But to exploit the elderly workforce, there should be more than just a change in curriculum," he said, referring to laws and policies that are lacking.

Data from the company showed that the platform has gained momentum in the past year. Its registered users grew from around 1,000 a year ago to over 10,000 by August this year. Users come from 73 countries and regions including the United States, South Korea and Spain.
