Georgia's Republican Secretary of State says that despite voting for President Donald Trump and donating to his campaign, Trump threw him "under the bus" by attempting to overturn the results of the presidential election in the state.In an opinion piece for USA Today, Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger criticized Trump for refusing to "accept the facts" in narrowly losing the state to President-elect Joe Biden.In his opinion piece, Raffensperger noted that despite the circumstance, Georgia's elections went fairly smoothly, noting record numbers of mail-in and early voting and "minuscule" wait times on election day. "They need to be run fairly and, perhaps more important, impartially. That's not partisan. That's just American. Yet some don't seem to see it that way."As the head of elections in Georgia, Raffensperger has found himself at the center of attention since election day. Days after the polls closed, Raffensperger called for an unprecedented statewide audit of the presidential election in the state, which required a hand recount of election results.While the audit did find a few thousand votes for Trump that had not been previously counted, the new votes only represented a small change in the final tally. Georgia has certified its election, though the Trump campaign has filed for a machine recount of votes, which is unlikely to change the final tally.All the while, Trump has continued to cast doubt on the electoral process in the state — and Raffensperger says he's been personally pressured by fellow Republicans to find ways to exclude legally-cast ballots. He also says both he and his family have faced threats in the face of the recounts.In his piece, Raffensperger skewered both Republicans and Democrats who attempted to discredit the election process in the state."An onslaught of fake news and unrepentant disinformation threatened to tear the fabric of our country apart," he wrote. "People on both sides of the aisle generated controversies out of nowhere to stir up trouble."In particular, Raffensperger criticized Trump for "adopting the playbook" of Stacey Abrams, a Democratic gubernatorial candidate who lost out to Gov. Brian Kemp in 2018. Abrams never conceded to Kemp and only suspended her campaign after the state certified the results of the election.Raffensperger also went after Rep. Doug Collins, calling him a "failed sente candidate." The campaign includes “terrifying” footage of tip overs caught on video.In addition to the number of fatalities, the CPSC estimates that every 43 minutes, a child is injured by furniture tipping over."Even when adults are in the same room with children, dangerous tip-overs can occur," said CPSC acting chairman Robert Adler. "Many parents and caregivers do not know about this hidden hazard, or believe that they can prevent a tip-over by watching their children, but these incidents still happen. We urge adults to Anchor It! and to tell their friends and family to do so, too, because these tragic tip-overs can happen in the blink of an eye."According to a CPSC survey, 80 percent are aware that furniture can tip over, but just 47 percent say they have their TV anchors, and 55 percent say they have anchored furniture in their home.The CSPC offers parents the following tips:To protect children from a tip-over incident, follow these safety tips in any home where children live or visit:Anchor TVs and furniture, such as bookcases and dressers, securely to the wall.Always place TVs on a sturdy, low base, and push the TV back as far as possible, particularly if anchoring is not possible.Avoid displaying or storing items, such as toys and remotes, in places where kids might be tempted to climb up to reach for them.Store heavier items on lower shelves, or in lower drawers.If purchasing a new TV, consider recycling older ones not currently in use. Kaleb Bentham said something didn’t sound right.“I heard a growl, looked about 75-100 feet down, and the bear was dragging him by his head, had his head in his mouth,” Benham told CBS13.Benham saved Buddy from a shelter a few years ago, and didn’t hesitate to rescue him again.“I just ran down there, plowed into the bear, tackled it and grabbed it by the throat and started hitting it in the face and the eye until it let go,” Benham said.Benham then describes the frantic search for a veterinary hospital that was open during the pandemic. GULF SHORES, Ala. – An Alabama woman says Hurricane Sally brought more than strong winds and heavy rains to her area.Tina Lambert Bennett spotted an alligator in the storm surge and captured the encounter on video.Bennett says she was upstairs in her Gulf Shores property, surveying the damage, when she spotted the gator in her yard.She believes the animal was at least 3.5 feet wide and 11 to 12 feet long.When the hurricane hit, surrounding canals overflowed and filled the marshlands.Bennett says she wants people to be aware of what can be in the water.It's not just alligators.
