An employee of a Virginia Publix grocery store who is deaf and lacks peripheral vision claimed she was assaulted by a customer after the employee said she could not hear the woman, WRIC-TV reported. Liberty Gratz was reportedly stocking a shelf when a woman trying to get Gratz's attention punched her from behind. The punch got Gratz's attention, and Gratz was able to point the woman in the right direction, but the incident left Gratz stunned. "She doesn't have that peripheral vision, so she's really focused on her work," Gratz's mom Jeanette Gratx told WRIC. "She doesn't always notice the people beside her."Liberty Gratz later had store management review video footage, but managers were unable to make out the woman. "She could still feel it when I picked her up from work," Jeanette Gratz told WRIC. An armed robber at a south side Chicago hot dog stand accidentally shot himself in the genitals during his escape, according to the Chicago Tribune.According to the Tribune, 19-year-old Terrion Pouncy robbed the Original Maxwell Street Polish around 6 a.m. Tuesday.As he ran away, Pouncy tried to put the gun in his pants. It went off, according to the Tribune, shooting him in the genitals and the thigh. He eventually called 911 to report he had been shot.He was taken to the hospital and charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm. 570

An operation is underway to evacuate thousands of tourists after a deadly earthquake that rocked some of Indonesia's most idyllic islands late Sunday night.At least 98 people, all Indonesian nationals, were killed when the 6.9 magnitude quake struck the popular tourist island of Lombok, Indonesian authorities said Monday. More than 200 were also injured.The majority of those killed in the quake were hit by falling debris from collapsing buildings, said Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the head of Indonesia's disaster management department.In total, an estimated 20,000 people have been displaced by the massive earthquake, Nugroho said.Dramatic video tweeted by authorities showed hundreds of people, many believed to be foreign vacationers, crammed onto a beach on the island of Gili Trawangan as evacuation measures got underway.Emergency personnel were racing to evacuate thousands of tourists from the three small Gili Islands as night began to fall. The islands, famous for their white sandy beaches and clear waters, are located near the epicenter of the quake on Lombok.Earlier rescue efforts were hampered by shallow waters, but rising sea waters mean nine ships are now expected to dock on the islands.So far, up to 2,700 tourists have been moved from the Gili Islands, according to Nugroho. Greitens' campaign fund has continued to pay the firm Ayers founded, C5 Consulting, into 2018, according to a Missouri Ethics Commission filing. Ayers stepped away from the firm to work in the administration."Several people from Washington have reached out and asked if Nick Ayers is going to be subpoenaed," said one Missouri House source with knowledge the discussions. "To this point he has not been." Hawley's office confirmed that, earlier this month, they oversaw a deposition of Danny Laub, who steered Greitens' campaign in its early stages and was later named on a campaign finance disclosure as the source of the donor list. The Circuit Attorney's office has alleged that it was in fact Greitens who "directed the disclosure" of the list to the campaign.Laub's attorney, Sandy Boxerman, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Laub, "did sit for that deposition, was completely truthful and forthcoming and cooperative. What happens beyond this point is in the hands of other people."Ayers joined the campaign after Laub and became an essential adviser to Greitens, along with his acolyte Austin Chambers, who managed the campaign.
