SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego County District Attorney’s office released Friday a detailed report and video evidence in the death of a woman arrested by San Diego Police. Aleah Jenkins, 24, was arrested Nov. 27 on an outstanding warrant for meth possession during a traffic stop in University City. The video released at a news conference Friday shows Jenkins vomiting in the back of a patrol car. The officer initially called for medical aid but it was called off because Jenkins said her illness was due to pregnancy. That was not true, according to District Attorney Summer Stephan. There were several points when Jenkins yelled and asked for help in the back of the patrol car. Officers took Jenkins to SDPD headquarters downtown, where she collapsed. Jenkins was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center and died Dec. 6. A spokesperson for the Jenkins family said San Diego Police could have prevented Jenkins’ death by getting her help when she said she didn’t feel well.The autopsy indicated Jenkins had PCP, THC, morphine, and meth in her system, but no injuries which would have caused her death. District Attorney Summer Stephan said at a news conference Friday that no charges would be filed against the officer who arrested Jenkins after a careful review of the evidence. "I looked at the fact that at the period of time where he didn't get a prompt response he pulled over he pulled over and physically looked at her,” Stephan said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The Padres plan to walk into the 2021 season with a World Series pitcher on the roster, trading for Tampa Bay Rays ace Blake Snell.The deal, reported by The Athletic and ESPN, would see Snell head to San Diego in exchange for top pitching prospect Luis Pati?o, catcher Francisco Mejía, pitcher Cole Wilcox, and catcher Blake Hunt.The deal will be finalized pending a medical review, the outlets report. The addition of Snell to San Diego will help the team build a formidable starting pitching rotation heading into 2021, after adding Cleveland ace Mike Clevinger last season. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The views from atop of the old light house at Point Loma are off limits to virtually everyone most of the year except two particular twin sisters.Kim Falhlen and Karen Scanlon are volunteers at Cabrillo National Monument.The 67-year-old sisters are tasked with cleaning the rare glass lenses at the top of the lighthouse among other duties for the open tower days held only 3 days a year.“It’s almost in a constant need of repair,” said Kim Fahlen, “the tower wasn’t built for today’s activity.”The sisters grew up in Ohio and say they plan on helping at the tower as long as the park rangers at Cabrillo will let them.“We’re good for a while,” said Karen Scanlon, “we’ll keep doing this until they make us take a desk job.” 756
