China and ASEAN on Wednesday issued a joint statement on the application of the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES) in the South China Sea as well as a guideline on senior diplomat hot line to cope with maritime emergencies.

GENEVA, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- China is the first middle-income country to join the ranks of the world's top 25 innovative economies, a joint report by Cornell University, INSEAD and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) revealed Monday.

Li called on both countries to enhance high-level exchanges, increase mutual political trust, and outline the development of bilateral ties in the new era, saying China and Myanmar have highly complementary economies and great potential for cooperation.

To enhance global financial governance, countries also need to work toward improving the sovereign debt rescheduling mechanism, strengthening monitoring of capital flows and risks, and safeguarding the security of the global financial network with the IMF at the core.

"Thanks to the upgraded relations between China and Egypt and supports from both countries, it only took us several months to communicate the details of the project and then we signed the contract," Liu Guanghui, CET Middle East Chief Representative told Xinhua.
