Several NFL teams reported Wednesday that players had tested positive for COVID-19, putting at least three games scheduled for this weekend in jeopardy.According to ESPN and NFL Network, among those players who tested positive was Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore, the NFL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Since then, several more team members have also tested positive.The NFL requires multiple consecutive days of no positive tests before reopening a team facility. The Titans were set to do so on Wednesday after reporting no positive tests on Monday and Tuesday.The new positive test puts the Titans' game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills in jeopardy. The outbreak has already forced the postponement of the team's home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which was scheduled for last Sunday.Finally, ESPN reports that one member of the Las Vegas Raiders tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. Spring Valley, Calif. (KGTV) - The new Homeless Assistance Resource Team is expanding to battle the growing homeless population, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The program started in June. Their goal is to connect homeless people with services, like getting a driver's license, food stamps, or healthcare."It's not new to the sheriff's department, but having three full time deputies assigned to the mission is new." Deputy Matthew Faddis said they accompany the myriad of service agencies on their mission into obscure parts of town known to house homeless people.Faddis said it was to ensure the social workers, nurses and other workers' safety, and make them feel comfortable to do their job.Deputy Faddis said the department is working to help more people, "starting out doing this about once a week, we hope to expand that and eventually get the full time team doing this every single day."In Spring Valley, 10News walked with the team down into a concrete canal covered in graffiti. The couple they spoke with was given Hep A shots, hand sanitizer, water, and set up with a ride to get to an office where they can get set up for services tomorrow."If you don't have skills to communicate, if you don't have skills to be there on time, you get a stigma of, 'oh people don't care, there just going through my file anyway,' it doesn't matter." Kristin Kerrick said that's part of the reason why homeless people don't want to talk with the team. She said they are also scared.She's lived out of her car for the past year working to regain stability."There's a place in La Mesa that accepts Section 8 and I qualify, so it's really exciting, it's been so long, it's been a really long time so I'm really thankful," Kerrick said smiling ear to ear.Once under a roof for six months, she said she can try to get her four kids back, "we can see if they are already adopted out, or if they can break through the adoption, and go get the kids back, because I'm able to provide for them now and I'm under a program and she'll talk to me about that so not yet."Stories like hers, fueling the HART team forward. 2135

SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating accusations that a Spring Valley doctor sexually assaulted his medical assistant.   Medical Assistant Sarah Shepherd tells us she’d been working with Dr. Hanid Audish at Encompass Medical Group for the past six years. Shepherd says the two were friends and their families would spend time together. She explains that she viewed him as a brother. Now she’s suing him and the medical group for sexual battery, among other complaints. “I just kept saying ‘no’ and he wasn't super forceful but he wasn't letting it go,” says Shepherd of their encounter. Her hands were shaking during our entire interview, but she believes her story of what happened inside a Spring Valley medical plaza is worth sharing. There’s a photo of Dr. Audish on the medical group’s website. Shepherd also provided us with her photos of him that she says were taken at work parties. The lawsuit describes "sexually assaultive and egregious behavior" that started after she told him she'd recently been tanning. “I went to show him my tan line because he was saying I didn't look tan and then I realized it would be inappropriate [because] it's too far down,” she explains.  The lawsuit reports that "Dr. Audish pulled the front of [her] pants down" to her underwear line and then "he pulled down her pants from behind". “Then he hit me on the bottom and bent me over the counter,” she adds.  She says she pleaded for him to stop. “I said, ‘No, no, no. You have a wife and four kids.’ He said, ‘There's no cameras.’” She also says he told her, “I’m just a guy.” The lawsuit reads that he "tried to forcibly pull [her] into the bathroom" but she escaped. After reporting it within days, Encompass Medical Group sent Shepherd a letter about reported misconduct. The letter was shared with 10News. It appears that the Executive Director wrote to Shepherd that she should never have been subject to abuse. It also appears that he wrote, in part, that “Dr. Audish admitted his guilt without excuse” and “he was and is very apologetic” and “remorseful”. The letter reports that the medical group would hold a special session to “decide formal disciplinary action”. During a recorded phone interview with an investigator for the firm that’s representing Shepherd, Dr. Audish paints a different picture of what happened. The investigator is heard asking Dr. Audish if he pulled down the back of Shepherd’s scrubs, exposing her buttocks. Dr. Audish is heard responding, “No. She did it herself with her left side. All I did was just touch the right side of her buttock where the pants were still on.” He’s also heard saying, “The touching was about, literally, five seconds.” He’s heard describing that she smirked and said, “All guys are the same.” However, he claims it stopped there. The investigator asked if at any point he tried to pull her into the bathroom. Dr. Audish is heard saying, “No. None.” A representative with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department wrote to 10News, “A report has been filed but due to the active nature of the case, we are not prepared to make a statement in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation.”  The attorney for both the doctor and the medical group says there's a more comprehensive investigation underway, but she declined to comment further on any pending litigation. She did say that Shepherd is still employed with Encompass Medical Group, although Shepherd says she has not been paid since the incident. Shepherd also says that a representative of the medical group notified her that she should turn in her keys and other work items. Shepherd concludes, “I don't think he's sorry. SILVERADO (CNS) - Southern California Edison told California officials this evening that a lashing wire may have contacted its overhead primary conductor and sparked the 7,200-acre Silverado Fire, which critically injured two firefighters.The blaze erupted for unknown reasons at 6:47 a.m. in the area of Santiago Canyon and Silverado Canyon roads, and by late Monday afternoon had blackened 7,200 acres, Orange County Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy said.It forced evacuations of 90,800 residents in the Irvine and Lake Forest areas, threatened structures and blocked key roadways. Southern California Edison sent a letter to the California Public Utilities Commission Monday night acknowledging it had overhead electrical facilities in the area that the blaze broke out.``We have no indication of any circuit activity prior to the report time of the fire, nor downed overhead primary conductors in the origin area,'' SCE said in the letter. ``However, it appears that a lashing wire that was attached to an underbuilt telecommunication line may have contact SCE's overhead primary conductor which may have resulted in the ignition of the fire.''Irvine Mayor Christina Shea said the city opened eight facilities to shelter evacuated residents and several quickly filled up. Irvine Police Department Chief Mike Hamel said city officials were working with the American Red Cross to provide overnight shelter for residents with no place to go. The city's animal shelter was open to house pets.``We've been fortunate to not lose any structures yet,'' Fennessy said early this evening. The injured firefighters are 26 and 31 years old. Both sustained second- and third-degree burns about 12:15 p.m., one over 65% of the body and the other over half the body, according to Fennessy said. OCFA officials said the flames jumped the 241 Freeway shortly after 9 a.m. The fire sent a major plume of smoke over the entire region, creating unhealthy air across a wide area.The Orange County Health Care Agency urged residents in affected areas to stay indoors, limit outdoor activity, keep windows and doors closed and run air conditions to filter the air.Southern California Edison had power cut off to 440 customers in Orange County late Monday morning due to the wildfire threat, but another 12,792 customers were under consideration for power shutoffs to prevent fueling the blaze. 6776
