Police have arrested a dog groomer and her boyfriend for stealing a dog from a salon in Mesa, Arizona last month.Mesa police say Izabella Bujanda, an employee at the Animal Clipper grooming salon where Bebe?was dropped off on Feb. 24, confessed to concealing the 2-year-old Biewen Terrier and handing the dog to her boyfriend as he waited outside the business that Saturday morning.Bujanda's boyfriend, Anthony Barrera, was interviewed Thursday and confessed to his part in the crime.According to the suspects, both 20, they decided to get rid of Bebe after the publicity the case started receiving in the media.On Tuesday, Barrera reportedly drove Bebe to a neighborhood near Power and Thomas roads, where he said she was released near the front yard of a home.Police say Bebe has still not been located, and they are asking residents in the Las Sendas area to help bring Bebe home to her owner.Barrera and Bujanda have both been charged with theft.  984

Philadelphia is the most populous city in a battleground state, and there is a lot of attention being paid to its polling locations Tuesday. Of the 25 complaints of potential polling place or Election Day concerns the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office received by noon ET on Tuesday, 21 were already resolved.In a press release, they said the vast majority of complaints were about alleged interference, like a polling place being partially blocked by construction or members of the press.The Philadelphia District Attorney responded on social media to a concern shared by Trump’s Election Day operations director.“Members of our Election Task Force have investigated this allegation. This polling place is located in an interior room and the sign in question is further than 10 feet from it. Police in Wisconsin have confirmed two cases of tampered Halloween candy throughout the state.In Arcadia, Wisconsin — a town located near the Wisconsin/Minnesota border — police confirmed that at least one child found needles in multiple pieces of Halloween candy.The needles were not visible until the candy was opened and broken in half. In both instances, the needles appeared to be sewing needles.Police say the incident happened sometime during trick-or-treat hours, between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. They've warned parents in the community to check their children's candy.A few hundred miles away in Neenah, Wisconsin, police reported that nails were found in three pieces of Halloween candy.A spokesman for the Neenah Police Department said that a mother found three Kit Kat candy bars with nails protruding from them in her son's candy stash.Police suspect they can narrow down the house where the boy was given the candy, but did not say they were investigating any suspects.It's the second straight year in which a nail was found in a Neenah trick-or-treater's candy. A child found a nail hidden in a Tootsie Roll in 2016. No arrest was made in that case.Police are encouraging Neenah parents to inspect their children's candy for anything suspcious.Those reports comes just days after police in Randolph, Wisconsin — located about three hours east of Arcadia — say that a child in town received a piece of tampered candy while trick or treating on Saturday.According to police, the child received a Now and Later that appeared to have been soaked in motor oil or some other foreign substance. PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Getting cited by the police doesn't always have to be a bad thing in Pierce Township. Police Chief Jeff Bachman said his men have added a new type of ticket to their arsenal: A yellow slip recognizing the actions of residents who take time to do the right thing for others."You'll get a call from maybe a disabled motorist, someone with a flat tire, and you pull up and someone is already changing that tire," Bachman said. Those are the people honored by the new golden tickets, each of which comes with a Walmart gift card. Bachman said he hoped the initiative would inject some happiness into his community and help people connect with police in a positive way."We see a lot of negativity on the news, in our job, but why not accent the positive?" he said.
