SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Coronado Police officer who was among the first to arrive at the Spreckels Mansion after the death of Rebecca Zahau testified Monday in the wrongful death civil case.Zahau’s death was ruled a suicide in 2011 but her family believes she was killed. They sued Adam Shacknai, the brother of Rebecca’s boyfriend.Adam Shacknai called 911 to report the body hanging from the balcony.TIMELINE: Rebecca Zahau?caseIn testimony Monday, the unidentified officer said his duty was to go through the home and make sure no one was still inside, deeming it safe for investigators to enter. Investigators would later find a single boot print on the balcony where Zahau’s nude body was found bound and hanging. The shoe print would end up being one key piece of evidence. Investigators needed to find out who it belonged to, and if someone else was with Zahau before her body was discovered.SLIDESHOW: Coronado death investigationThe Zahau family lawyer is trying to prove Adam Shacknai was with her and played a role in her death. Shacknai’s lawyers argue there is not a single piece of evidence that ties him to Zahau’s death.  His DNA was never found at the scene, and there were no eyewitness accounts to support the Zahau family’s claim, lawyers say. The officer on the witness stand was questioned about the shoe print by Keith Greer, Zahau’s family lawyer.“Do you know whether or not that footprint on the deck is yours?” Greer asked.“Personally I do not, but I’ve been told that it is,” replied the officer.He said as part of the investigation, his boots were taken in as evidence.Investigators later determined the print was accidentally left behind by the officer during his sweep of the home.The same officer who testified answered questions from Shacknai’s lawyers about a call he responded to at the home days before Zahau’s death.Zahau’s boyfriend’s son, Max Shacknai, had suffered a life-threatening fall inside of the home while in her care.“Once I entered the house I saw a small boy on the ground with some debris on him,” said the officer.He went on to say he remembers seeing Zahau very emotional and crying, but doesn’t remember directly speaking with her.A PERT counselor, a fingerprint expert and a handwriting expert are also expected to testify Monday. 2314

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The two owners and two employees of San Diego-based pornographic website GirlsDoPorn.com were charged with federal sex trafficking counts Thursday, with prosecutors alleging the defendants coerced and threatened the victims into appearing in online pornography videos.According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, numerous young women who initially responded to ads for modeling jobs were deceived by the defendants to appear in adult films.Once the victims learned the work involved pornography, the defendants allegedly told them the videos would be distributed to private clients, and not disseminated on the internet.RELATED: San Diego porn case: Civil trial against porn website operators beginsProsecutors say the women were "pressured into signing documents without reviewing them and then threatened with legal action or outing if they failed to perform." Others were not allowed to leave the shoots -- which were conducted at various San Diego hotels -- until the videos were completed, which sometimes involved sex acts the victims initially declined to perform, prosecutors say.Website owners Michael James Pratt, 36, and Matthew Isaac Wolfe, 37, are charged along with porn actor Ruben Andre Garcia, 31, and administrative assistant Valerie Moser, 37. The charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.Prosecutors say Pratt remains outstanding, while Wolfe was arrested Tuesday, and Garcia was arrested Wednesday. It was not clear when Moser was arrested, but the U.S. Attorney's Office said she is slated to be arraigned in San Diego federal court on Friday.In addition, FBI agents executed a search warrant Wednesday night at an office in the Spreckels Theatre Building in downtown San Diego, where prosecutors say the website operated from. The website and its sister sites allegedly generated more than million in revenue.The defendants are also currently involved in an ongoing San Diego civil trial in which they are being sued by 22 women who appeared in videos on the site. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego State University football team announced Friday it has added a game against the Brigham Young University Cougars in December to complete its shortened schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The team initially received its schedule from the Mountain West Conference Thursday with a "TBA" game on Dec. 12. That game will now be played against BYU in Provo, Utah.It will be the second straight season that SDSU ends its regular season with the Cougars. Last year on Nov. 30, San Diego State defeated BYU, 13- 3, in what ended up being the Aztecs' final football game at SDCCU Stadium to snap a six-game losing streak in the series and improve to 8-21-1 all-time against Brigham Young.The BYU game will be the sole non-conference game for the Aztecs, excepting any possible post-season play.San Diego State opens its season at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, against UNLV on Oct. 24. The Aztecs will not be playing in SDCCU Stadium this season as it is being demolished to make way for the new Aztec Stadium at SDSU West Campus.The Aztecs are coming off a 10-3 season in 2019, capped by a 48-11 win over Central Michigan in the New Mexico Bowl.San Diego State hits the road for the first time on Oct. 31, when it travels to Utah State for a Halloween clash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 17-year-old boy accused of killing a Carlsbad woman on a popular hiking trail denied the allegations against him during a virtual arraignment Thursday morning.Through his attorney, the teen denied all allegations. He faces charges in connection with the Nov. 23 death of 68-year-old Lisa Thorborg.Thorborg was on a morning walk at Hosp Grove Trail when Carlsbad police investigators said she was attacked and stabbed to death.On Dec. 14, Carlsbad police announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy in the case. Little information on the teen was released, but police noted the suspect is a Carlsbad resident.Thorborg's death struck a chord with many in the community. In the days following her death, a large group came to honor her by finishing the walk she started.The woman’s death also left many neighbors upset and concerned about their safety while on that trail.During Thursday’s arraignment, the judge also granted the teen's request to two phone calls -- one to his Mom, the other to his grandmother.ABC 10News learned Thorborg’s family was also listening to the hearing through the phone.Another hearing in the case is set for Dec. 22. 1173
