South African President Jacob Zuma said the international society is at present facing increasing challenges, which requires stronger cooperation among the BRICS nations within the framework of the United Nations and regional organizations.
Hailing the frequent high-level interactions between Brazil and China, Rousseff mentioned the mid-term and long-term plan the two sides have mapped out for the development of the bilateral ties.
The two economies are highly complementary, with extensive potential for cooperation in expanding production capacity, infrastructure, agriculture, energy and other sectors, said the vice premier.
"China is an immensely important partner in Africa's development. It has been...over many decades. And certainly African countries see China as a very distinct partner," said Suzman.
Such coordination, he added, will help build the two countries into a community of common interests and shared destiny and maintain regional peace and stability.
