SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police Tuesday released video of a deadly officer-involved shooting in El Cerrito. The body camera footage is being released within 45 days of the incident as part of Assembly Bill 748. The video shows the moment 52-year-old Dennis Carolino was shot by an officer. According to police, Carolino’s aunt called police the night of August 24 to report that he hit her in the head with a brick. The 70-year-old woman told police Carolino had psychiatric issues. The officers gave the man verbal commands to drop the shovel. One of the officers drew his Taser at that point. The man did not cooperate with the officers’ commands and began to rapidly advance on the officers as he swung the shovel. One officer fired the Taser, which did not have any effect on him. The man continued to advance, prompting the other officer to fire his service weapon,” San Diego Police said in a statement.San Diego Police say three seconds passed from the time Carolino left the outbuilding to the time he was shot. Officers provided aid to Carolino until paramedics arrived, but he died shortly after. Officer Jose Mendez, a 16-year veteran of the department, fired his Taser, SDPD said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police agencies throughout San Diego County are investigating multiple brewery break-ins, all within the last week. Employees at Serpentine Cider say they were hit last Friday morning. Their surveillance cameras captured a man walking up to their business, moving a planter and then smashing a window to get inside. The person got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Just two miles away, Longship Brewery says they were hit that very same morning. The suspect, also broke a window and crawled inside, getting away with an empty cash drawer. In Vista, Barrel Harbor Brewing confirms with 10News someone also broke into their place the same exact way. They reported the crime to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. On social media, a fourth brewery, Black Plague, posted pictures of a break-in at their business on Instagram. Oceanside Police is investigating that incident. So far, police haven't confirmed if the incidents are related or released a description of who they're looking for. 1029

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are trying to determine what caused a 92-year-old man to crash into the side of a Chollas View home Thursday morning.The crash happened on the 300 block of St. Rita Court, authorities say.The nephew of the woman who lives in the home told 10News no one was home at the time of the crash, but the dogs inside the home were frightened by the incident.RELATED: Car crashes into City Heights home following pursuitThe man was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a homeless man a Mission Valley father says tried dragging his daughter into bushes before she was able to escape.Chris Gilbert says his 11-year-old daughter went to check the mail Saturday around 2 p.m. on the 5900 block of Caminito Deporte when the incident happened.After walking across the street to check the mail, Gilbert says his daughter felt hands on her shoulders.RELATED: San Diego Homelessness Czar to go on leave to open Mormon temple"She thought it was me, sneaking up playing a game,” Gilbert said.Then, Gilbert says, the man grabbed the 11-year-old by the neck and started dragging her toward some bushes.“She told me he put his hands on her shoulders from behind and was holding her, turned around and kicked him in the shin, got loose and ran into the house and found me upstairs.”That’s when Gilbert ran downstairs to confront the homeless man, hitting him in the shoulder as a warning.RELATED: Oceanside residents demand solution to homelessness issue“I said, ‘you need to get out of here,’ then he started hitting me.”Gilbert’s daughter describes the man as six foot, two inches tall, between the ages of 40 to 45 with thick glasses.
