Hundreds gathered at a house party in Howell Township on Sunday, less than a week after New Jersey tightened indoor gathering restrictions because of an increase in the rate of coronavirus transmission.Local police asked for help from Wall, Brick, Jackson, Freehold, Monmouth, and Ocean County Sheriffs and State Police because of the large number of people at the party. If you are going to steal someone's identity, choosing one of the most popular cartoon characters in the world is probably the worst identity to steal. For one English police officer, she was not fooled by the fake "Homer Simpson" driver's license. According to the Thames Valley Police, a man being pulled over in Milton Keynes, England handed an officer a driver license with "The Simpsons'" patriarch. The fake ID did not even have Simpson's correct address. The ID's address said 28 Springfield Way, but fans of "The Simpsons" would know that the family lives at 742 Evergreen Terrace. Thames Valley Police said that the driver's car was seized and the driver was reported for driving without insurance and driving without a proper license.  798

House Republicans released a tax reform plan Thursday that would eliminate a tax break for Americans with student debt.The student loan interest tax deduction saves people as much as 5 a year, though most see a smaller benefit.The sweeping legislation was described by House Speaker Paul Ryan as a series of tax cuts aimed at helping most Americans. But it eliminates or limits some tax deductions and exemptions to fund those cuts.The student loan interest tax deduction is just one on the chopping block. The bill still needs to be approved by both the House and Senate, and signed by President Trump, who has said it will be done "before Christmas."Here's how it currently works: Those eligible can claim up to ,500 of what they paid toward the interest on their student loans, but not the principal.It's an "above the line" deduction that can be claimed without itemizing. But it's only available to borrowers with a modified adjusted gross income of less than ,000 (0,000 for married couples filing jointly.) The benefit is gradually reduced once you earn at least ,000 (or 0,000 for couples).About 12 million people claimed the student loan interest deduction in 2015, according to the IRS. More than 40 million Americans have student debt.The student loan interest deduction cost the federal government billion in foregone revenue during 2016, according to a report from The Pew Charitable Trusts.The cost has more than doubled since 2007 as student loan balances grew, even though the maximum deduction (,500) hasn't changed since 2001, the report said.Still, it costs less than the American Opportunity Tax Credit. IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - Matt Henry, a father of six and avid surfer, says he's always had a positive attitude."It's partly just who I am," he says. "Before getting sick, I was so happy. I mean, if I were a puppy, I'd be wagging my tail all day long."The sickness he's referring to is an inoperable brain tumor, diagnosed four years ago. It affected his mood and personality. But it never affected his spirit."I think I had an attitude of like, this isn't gonna stop me," Henry says. "I've got six kids and a whole life to live. This is not enough to stop me."After surgery to remove part of the tumor, Henry learned to manage his symptoms. Doctors told him his tumor was growing slowly, giving him time. He decided to use that time to live his best life."I called it bucket list living," he says, and he shared his adventures with his family on his YouTube page. He also uses the hashtags #StayStoked and #InoperableMeetsUnstoppable on social media.Now he's sharing something new. Henry is part of a worldwide clinical trial for a new drug called Vorasinedib. A form of it has FDA Approval for treatment of some conditions of Leukemia.The study will see if a different version can help slow brain tumors' growth with a specific type of mutation, which Henry's has."If this trial works and then it's gonna help a lot of people, so I'd love to pave the way," he says.UC San Diego's Moores Cancer Center is one of the clinics taking part in the trial. IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif., (KGTV)-- Looming questions about border security arise after dozens of people were caught on camera, breaching the fence at Friendship Park yesterday. After being captured and detained, all 52 people are now seeking asylum. A local Youtuber who goes by the username, "Mexican Andy" live-streamed the video of the migrants rushing the border. At around 4 PM, Thursday, he witnessed a man, using what looks to be a knife to slice through the fence and razor wires. The moment it was wide enough for an adult to crawl through, the rush began. US Border Patrol agents said they now have 52 people in custody, including 23 men, 12 women, and 17 children, for illegally crossing the border. This includes 27 families, 24 single adults, and one unaccompanied child, hailing from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. All of them have since filed for asylum. This kind of breach is hardly a rarity for Border Patrol. Last November, just after the installation of Concertina wire on top of the border wall, two women and a child appeared to squeeze through the fence and walk into the United States.Days later, thermal cameras captured a man, attempting to kick the same razor wire at the San Diego border. Later that same month was the largest caravan rush in recent years, which shut down the San Ysidro border crossing, freeways, and surrounding businesses. With so many more incidents of asylum seekers trying to cross into the United States illegally, it is unclear if Border Patrol has any plans of adding extra security. 10News also asked if this latest group will be sent back to Mexico while their asylum claims are processed, as instructed by President Trump.
