So you lay off all your managers then you hire them back. Imagine them literally a couple weeks later you send that message again,” he said.Similarly, La Puerta is seeing the roller coaster of numbers. Owner Merritte Powell said the Gaslamp restaurant is also expanding onto the sidewalk. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — It's already been one year since the San Diego Zoo Safari Park saw the first southern white rhino born through artificial insemination arrive at its park.Edward turned one-year-old on July 28, celebrating with a party at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center with his mother Victoria, 8-month-old female calf Future, and her mother Amani."Even though he doesn’t know it’s his birthday, it is very special to see Edward – a healthy, robust rhino - running around, enjoying his special treats," said Barbara Durrant, director of Reproductive Sciences at San Diego Zoo Global. "We aren’t just celebrating his birthday but also are celebrating the significance of his birth."Edward was born last year after hormone-induced ovulation and artificial insemination with frozen semen from southern white rhino Maoto on March 22, 2018. Victoria gave birth 16 months later. Edward's birth was the zoo's first successful attempt to birth a southern white rhino via artificial insemination and a critical step toward recovering its distant cousin, the northern white rhino. Since election night, it's been a constant case of the nerves."Incredibly excited, praying night and day," said Nash.Her eyes have been glued to the television and coverage of the vote count. Throughout Friday, her candidate edged closer to being declared the winner."I will feel relieved that the trauma is over. I'm speaking as a black woman who has been under significant trauma the last four years, in terms of some of the language and behavior of the leader of the free world. Hopeful change is coming," said Nash.There is no questioning her dislike of President Trump, but on this day, she is focused on the country’s future."I believe Biden can bring this country together. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Mission Bay High School was locked down Friday due to reports of a weapon on campus.San Diego Unified School District confirmed just before 11 a.m. the high school was locked down Friday morning over reports of a weapon on campus. The lockdown was lifted after almost an hour, according to the district.School police searched classrooms and spoke with students, but no weapon was located on campus.Resource officers will be on campus throughout the school day out of an abundance of caution, the district added. 538
