LAGUNA BEACH – A Tesla sedan that was traveling in autopilot mode crashed into a parked police vehicle in Laguna Beach Tuesday, according to KABC.Both vehicles were damaged after the crash, which sent the police vehicle sliding onto a sidewalk.The police SUV was unoccupied at the time of the crash and he driver of the Tesla sedan received minor injuries.Tesla previously said that its autopilot systems shouldn’t be used in spots with intersections, stop signs, red lights or suddenly changing traffic patterns.Drivers are also supposed to keep their hands on the wheel to maintain control of the vehicle, Tesla says.The circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown at this time. 692

(KGTV) - A strip mall that had fallen into disrepair and attracted squatters has been placed into receivership, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.Located on the 7400 Block of Broadway, the property consisted of several buildings that had closed about a year ago after the city busted an illegal marijuana dispensary.But that’s when the real problems began.“Lots of police calls, criminal activities and police responses,” said Richardson Griswold, who was appointed as the receiver by a superior court judge on Friday.It came after the City of Lemon Grove had been granted a judgment against the owners of the property. The judgment required that the owners clean it up and properly secure it, but that was never completed.When the receiver arrived Friday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Department was called in to remove six people who had been living inside. One of them was found hiding in the attic. Four were taken into custody on existing warrants.Inside, Griswold said there was “heaps of trash, clothing, and no plumbing, so there was the smell of human feces and human urine.”He had already hired a crew to start clearing out the buildings and board up the access points. LINDA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Police arrested a man after an hours-long standoff in Linda Vista Wednesday night. It happened in an apartment at the end of Via Las Cumbres, near Kelly Street. Police say they were there to serve an arrest warrant on a man suspected of illegally possessing a loaded firearm. Officers on scene repeatedly asked the man to exit the apartment over a megaphone, but he remained inside. Around 9 p.m., officers used a battering ram to break down the front door. They brought out the man in handcuffs and placed him in a patrol vehicle. Lt. Danny Grubbs said they had tried to arrest the man several times before but he was able to get away. In one of those attempts, Grubbs said the man led CHP on a chase through Mission Valley but ended up crashing his van into the San Diego River. He escaped through a drainage ditch, evading capture. The man’s identity was not released. 908
