An attorney says a Maryland man who was shot and killed by a police officer was asleep in his bedroom when police opened fire from outside his house. The 21-year-old man's girlfriend was also wounded. The Montgomery County Police Department said in a news release Friday that Duncan Socrates Lemp “confronted” police and was fatally shot by one of the officers early Thursday. An attorney for Lemp’s relatives said police couldn't have any justification for shooting Lemp based on what she has heard. Lemp's family says the warrant police obtained to search their Potomac home doesn’t mention any “imminent threat.” A police spokesman didn’t immediately respond to the family’s statement. 700
As the House of Representatives held a vote on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump Wednesday, one Republican congressman though voting "no" wasn't quite forceful enough.Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) tweeted a photo of his voting card Wednesday, which he edited to read "hell no.""Obstruction of Congress? To even allege it is an admission of constitutional illiteracy," Ratcliffe said. "The Founders had a term they used for the Democrats' obstruction of Congress. They called it: Separation of Powers."None of Ratcliffe's GOP colleagues voted to impeach Trump on Wednesday. But because Democrats held a majority, the House voted to adopt two articles of impeachment on Wednesday. 712

Canva users are being urged to change their passwords after it was hacked last week. The graphic design tool company sent an email to its users saying it discovered an in-progress attack on Friday, May 24. "As soon as we were notified we immediately took steps to identify and remedy the cause and have reported the situation to authorities (including the FBI). We are very sorry for any concern or inconvenience this may cause," the email said.A number of the Canva community members' email addresses and passwords were stolen in the hack."The attacker also obtained cryptographically secure passwords (all passwords were individually salted and hashed with bcrypt). While this is industry best practice, it is possible to crack weak or obvious passwords with the use of enough computing power. For this reason, we recommend you change your password," the email said."Our team is working around the clock to deal with this situation, and we really appreciate your support and understanding," said Liz McKenzie, head of communications for Canva, in the email. 1070
